Sorry! I have just been insecure about possibly being Jewish. It is a lot of history to consider.

 

I am sorry about my repetitive posts about being Jewish. I have a tendency to obsess and worry about things that are important to me. There is nothing wrong with being Jewish. I treasure the Jewish people so I should be honored to possibly be one myself. It is just a lot of history to consider.

 

I have given my research some thought and I have decided that I may have some Jewish ancestry.

I think at the heart of why I was feeling uncomfortable about being Jewish was I was afraid of being hated or targeted in some way. I now realize I need not worry about that. Times are changing and people are becoming more tolerant and accepting of each other, which is a good thing. I need not obsess and worry.

 

Don't worry, plenty of people still hate Jews.

 

I feel more confident and comfortable with my ancestry now.

It does not really matter to me what my ethnicity is. I just started posting about it and got caught up in being accurate.

Where I got the ideas about my ancestry was by doing online research on my last name Meyer.

 

So with the help of a friend on another forum I have determined there are three major branches of the Meyer family tree. There is an English branch, a German branch, and a Jewish branch. I wonder where the Meyer family tree starts?

 

I have discovered that the name Meyer is actually a common occupational heredity name so the different branches of the Meyer family may actually belong to different family trees altogether.

 

To my knowledge I belong to the German branch/tree of the Meyer family.

 

I think it would be cool if all variations of the Meyer family were all one family tree but the different branches may have started and evolved independent of one another.
