I gave it some more thought and I decided I am not Jewish.

I wanted to thank you all for your patience as I explored my ancestry. I have decided I am not Jewish because as I have said before I have never heard about it in the family and I had asked my grandparents in the past if we were Jewish and they said no.
I am honestly a little skeptical about some of the information I have seen online about my ancestry. I wonder how much of it is true?
Your ancestry is irrelevant to whether you want to believe in Judaism.
Sorry! I just wanted to explore it. I am not set on what I am yet but I have a general idea none the less. I figured that if I had some Jewish ancestry that would be a transition into believing in Judaism.
I just wanted to say I respect the Jewish community and Judaism. I also wanted to say that I am not sure if I have Jewish ancestry or not.
Actually, now that I think of it, I do not believe I am Jewish. Going by what I have heard in the family I am just German, Polish, Irish, and Russian.
Plenty of Jews there (not so much Ireland), your ancestors probably intermarried at some point.
That makes sense.
You are what you are . Don't look back to your ancestry , they might surprise you perhaps some were horse thieves and they got hanger or you might find there was a prostitute in your ancestry.
Be happy what you are and be a good citizen.
Thanks for the advice.
I just wanted to apologize to the community here for all the confusion about my ancestry. I have decided that I am a German, Polish, Irish, and Russian American. All the other things I thought I was were based on research I did on several different online resources that I have now decided may not be absolutely credible. Thank you!
I have decided to share what I have discovered about my ancestry by doing online research. I have discovered I may have English, Dutch, French, Swiss, Roman, and Jewish ancestry too. I am not sure how credible this information is since I researched it online but I am willing to give it a chance.
Did you find your gran grandfather vas a horse thief and runoff to France /
Nope. To my knowledge my grandparents, great grandparents, and so on were all law abiding people.
This will be super late in the conversation, but I highly recommend Simon Schama's works (the book and the documentary):
The Story of the Jews (documentary)
The Story of the Jews (book -- very cheap on Kindle)
Thanks! This looks great!
I have been feeling more confident in my online ancestry research.
So to sum up my ancestry I am a German, Polish, Irish, and Russian American. I may also have some English, Dutch, French, Swiss, Roman, and Jewish ancestry too.
I do not believe I have any Jewish ancestry.
