I went to the Chiropractor on Friday for an adjustment. I felt fine for the rest of the day. Saturday I woke up and felt a like tightness in my neck. It got progressively worse until yesterday when I went back to the chiropractor to get refixed. Nothing has changed since. I still cant rotate my head/neck in the right hemisphere, meaning I can't turn right, tilt right, nothing. It hurts to turn left as well, but not so much to tilt left. Every little step I take, bump on the road, anything, hurts really badly. I would think that after getting readjusted and putting ice on it for hours last night that it would feel better today but it doesn't; it feels just as bad, if not worse, than yesterday. What do you think the problem is and what should I do?

I think you should seek real medical advice...go to a real medical doctor immediately and that would include an Emergency Room.

I tried Icy Hot but it's not the muscles. My muscles aren't sore at all. It feels like the spine itself.

I agree with joepistole. Go and see a real doctor.

The problem is a pain in the neck and you should see a real doctor, not a chiropractor, ASAP.

Without getting into chiropractor-bashing (because some of the things they do can help a little), there's been a lot of reports over the past few years of them actually causing spinal damage with their "adjustments."

As already mentioned, I'd go see an MD as soon as possible and have a set of X-rays made. If you are lucky, you might get off with nothing more than a prescription for a muscle relaxer. (That's my guess at your problem, having had exactly what you describe about four times myself.)

I have had this a few times. It has always gone away on its own after two or three days..
I always got it at night, so I noticed it in the morning like you did. I always figured I had slept in a weird position or something.
It goes away at night as well, for me at least.
I have this once every one or two years. And it's rather horrible, I know.

Seeing that your Chiropractor might be to blame, I'd go back to him until its gone. He should treat you for free in my opinion.

    Good luck

I just got back from the chiro once again.

    Heres the verdict....

Damaged rotator cuff due to ultra tight msucles
The main vertabra that connects your neck to your back was way out of line.
Because of both of those, I've got some major swelling between and around the vertebra and around the shoulder.

Long story made short, I ended up doing ultrasound and electro therapy, decompression therapy and a few other things. Hopefully I am in recovery, we will see. I go back Friday for a follow up. :bawl:

I still suggest you go to a medical doctor. You could have many things including an infection which could be life threatening. So I repeat, you should go to a medical doctor. Maybe it is something simple, but then maybe it is something more critical. You will not know for sure unless you see a medical doctor.

But I agree with Joepistole, it would be best to also see your doctor and tell him what happened. A second opinion can't hurt.

I am also unconvinced. I too, think you need to see a real doctor and NOT the same chiropractor that obviously either caused, or aggravated the damage.

Seriously hun, you should have an Xray or ultrasound by someone who is not so interested in getting you to give him more money. A good chiropractor would NEVER suggest you get treatment from him for a shoulder injury, and may even suggest a referral to a doctor that does. Chiropractors are more metaphysical than scientific and can cause real harm and most go into it for the money itself. Please go see a licensed physician.

Why does he need to go to another doctor for a sore neck? He has not said that there was any trauma and i have never heard of anyone developing lasting damage from a sore neck. Have you?
