Shame on Egypt and that (C U Next Tuesday) Mubarak

It appears that Israeli commanders killed more than 10 unarmed people whose crime was to try to deliver food and medicine to people in need of this aid. During the on board struggle two Israeli weapons were stolen and may have been fired at Israelis but the people trying to deliver the aid were totally unarmed prior to Israeli arms coming on board. Read here:

Bloomberg has story in part because the Israeli stock market is taking a big hit. Probably this time Israel has gone too far and a boycott will punish them. I will do my part - I.e. my Teva stock is for sale.

I also call on the US government to IMMEDIATELY terminate ALL aid to Israel - that includes the supply of rockets fired from Israeli helicopters into Gaza buildings etc. I will not vote for any congress person who does not join in this call.

I doubt it. If Gaza 2009 did not make a difference, why would this?

The boycott is still limited to a few people of conscience:

Coop Italia and Nordiconad say they cannot differentiate between goods coming from settlements and inside the Green Line.

Clearest account of the incident yet:

al Jazeera said:
Earlier, the Israeli navy had contacted the captain of the Mavi Marmara, asking him to identify himself and say where the ship was headed.

Shortly after, two Israeli naval vessels had flanked the flotilla on either side, but at a distance.

Organisers of the flotilla carrying 10,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid then diverted their ships and slowed down to avoid a confrontation during the night.

They also issued all passengers life jackets and asked them to remain below deck.

Al Jazeera’s Ayman Mohyeldin, reporting from Jerusalem, said the Israeli action was surprising.

"All the images being shown from the activists on board those ships show clearly that they were civilians and peaceful in nature, with medical supplies on board. So it will surprise many in the international community to learn what could have possibly led to this type of confrontation," he said.

Horrifying.

Although there seems to be a bit of confusion: Sam's new link says "two dead". Did the passengers attack or no? Are there any Israeli wounded, in fact?

I can't say I'd mind too much if Raed Salah had been shot: he's a fascist extremist. But certainly not the innocent passengers.

I didn't say that they were only Turks on the ship. I said the ship was departed from Turkey. Now you are saying that ship itself was given by Turkey only contributes to the fact. And the fact is Turkey has its own share in this incident.

I wish you would show the same fake amazement for the safety of these people. Show me just one example of Turkish Authorities at least warned these people against possibility of this incident. No, I guarantee that you cannot. Quite opposite, government sent them into fire in order to benefit from the exactly the same argument you are shouting now: "Israel killed civilians". All right...

I already said I have no doubts about the genuine intention of these people. Yet international humanitarian aids are normally regulated or arranged by international bodies such as States or International Organisations for a good reason. This incident only proved the sensible logic behind this reason: To make sure that aid reaches its destination without causing more catastrophe.

Stop repeating the deceiving arguments of your populist and ignorant officials and speak of your own logic and knowledge: Simple task for you: I want to hear which sections of International Law is violated. Here is the major frame of the international law of sea under the United Nation, just put your finger on any article that you think it would fit this incident:

http://www.un.org/Depts/los/convention_agreements/texts/unclos/part7.htm

Feel free to spot and claim which article is violated. The intervention is committed within the Continental Shelf area of Israel, not in the High Seas. Moreover, Turkey tried to be cleaver and did not sign International Continental Shelf agreement in order not to become a legal party against Greece in Aegean Sea dispute. Now, how on earth Turkey will claim legal rights? No it will not. Even if it does, Israel will prove its International Rights:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convention_on_the_Continental_Shelf

EDIT: Another information on this: Turkey does not have any legal ground to apply for anything at all: The ship is registered to the country called Comoros (Union of the Comoros). The ship "officially" belongs to Turks and I bet Comoros have neither enough resources nor any interest to buy this ship. The ship is definitely registered to this country in order to cover up any possible diplomatic headache. Clever, isn't it:

Just keep believing in this "Muslim country" drama; another election material for the ruling party.

Total deception and big lie. Turkey had been enjoying full cooperation with Israel and even military level and all this fuss started last year. Evidence:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8301321.stm

Wrong. I just said it in my previous post. Reminder:

See, I am perfectly able to say what Israel is and what Israel is doing. But you are not capable of admitting the other half of the full story.

Why does evidence and the incident fully support my "fabrication"? How is Turkey not "partly" responsible from this bloodshed?

And I finally remind you this extract from your bullshit:

Since you take it personal, your next move will probably be accusing me as "being against Turks". You are barking at a wrong tree my friend. Do your home work first before you even try to defend Turkish Government.

This is NOT a sudden decision made by bunch of people! It was anounced way before the ships started their voyage that there is no political intention and Israel was invited to search the ships. And the fact that this is all about the aid.

Now, if there's any expedition for aid, there has to be help, transportation and other supplies given by somebody. This time Turkiye did that. How do you think this could be done?

I am not defending any government, I am saying religious or not, any Turkish government would give the support because that's the will of people living in the country.

The only amazing thing is you pointing out my country and blame it for something that has been done for years in the same way.

You're full of crap.

And what the hell does "There's no evidence of fire passing them" mean?

The Israelis are claiming the passengers fired upon them 2 hours before the commandos boarded the ships with machine guns and started shooting. Then the Israeli military spokeswoman Avital whatever, said the passengers grabbed the Israelis machine guns and fired on the Israelis. In a "pre-plan" act.

Deception of course. The flotilla was unarmed. They didn't even have an armed escort.

They were still in International waters Geoff. When armed people storm your ship in international waters, what does that amount to? Are you saying that the people on that boat should not have tried to defend themselves against armed men who stormed their boat shooting in the dead of night?

Yeah. Having watched the videos and listened to the calls coming through as it was happening, they weren't fired upon when they decided to open fire.

Israel forgets that there were media on board filming and talking on satellite phones as it was happening.

Actually they have jammed all communications, I don't think they realised that there was a media crew on board. This is the first time there has been a full media crew on a Gaza aid ship. Having those Australian journalists on board will be a major advantage. If they are safe

The Israeli Navy has jammed all communications aboard the ships of the Freedom Flotilla, blocking cell phone signals and internet connections aboard humanitarian aid ships. Scrambling the signals preceding the Israeli raid on the Flotilla, which involved special forces troops and the mobilization of one third of the Israeli Navy.

As the last few images broadcast from the Flotilla played over and over again on news channels around the world, agencies from Qatar to Malaysia called on Israel to allow them to report on the Israeli military attack on the civilian ships that left at least fifteen people dead.

Malaysian news agency Astro Awani called on the Israeli government to release information on two reporters aboard the Mavi Marmara, the Flotilla ship that was attacked by Israeli paratroopers early Monday morning. Al Jazeera Television also asked for protection for its three reporters aboard the ship. Both news agencies said they lost contact with their reporters just prior to the Israeli attack.

The Israeli government has tried to control the media's coverage of both the aid convoyand the raid on it, but the internet has frustrated its efforts, disseminating news and images from the ships.

Since all of those on board the ship who were not killed are presumed arrested by the Israeli military, the news agencies have called on the Israeli military to release the footage recorded by their reporters on board the ships. The small amount of video footage that has been able to get past the Israeli blackout has disproved Israeli claims that activists "grabbed the guns" of Israeli troops during their assault. Footage of the Israeli paratroopers landing on the ship's deck shows that the Israeli military attacked the unarmed activists unprovoked.

Unbelievable. It seems the Israelis are kidnapping all the 700+ delegation from all six ships:

According to reports, Israeli forces attacking a six-ship aid convoy to Gaza, killing approximately 16-20, are forcing all six ships to Israel in an act of international piracy, abducting over 700 civilians from around the world.

Among those abducted in the attack on the humanitarian flotilla is Ambassador Edward Peck, who was Deputy Director of the Cabinet Task Force on Terrorism at the Reagan White House and State Department Liaison Officer to the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.

Small arms.

Are you saying they did? I'm not sure what I'd think about that. If you rush men with SMGs, then there are bound to be casualties. Then again, they were in the right to bring in supplies. Then again, Raed Salah was on board, which immediately makes me think "set up".

The video evidence is incontrovertible. No small arms, no "resistance", no sharp metal objects. The Israelis probably shot each other. They do it often enough.

mubarak is a vile human being

if he wasnt blockading gaza things will be bettre
he needs to take the shiiite aswell

Do you ever actually read what you write? Or do you just write it with the philosophy of 'never look back, never regret'? How can a snippet of video account for a likely 3+ hour ordeal?

Why did you drop all your claims on International Law, Turkey always being against Israel, me fabricating things? I asked you clear questions and you didn't reply any of these properly.

I repeat my claims:

- Israel has been warning Turkey against this campaign since last month. They said they will hit the ship and Turkey knew it. But didn't do anything, neither to settle the issue with Israel nor warning the passengers.
- Turkey provided the ship and changed its official flag in order to cover the technical responsibility, allowed children on board alongside more than 600 civilians.
- Ruling party has been using Israel card since last year for domestic publicity. It doesn't give a shit about the security of these people.
- Turkey shares the responsibility of what happened to these people.

You're full of crap.

Better than being a supporter of stupid and ignorant acts.
