Oh, I agree, looks are everything especially when it comes to female attraction. Women are attracted to looks, in terms of big muscles and large wads of cash, because women are genetically hard-wired to be selfish, materialistic, and superficial. However, men are only attracted to those looks, such as youth and fertility, which are necessary for the propagation of the human species... and many more men will sleep with anything regardless of looks. Only dominant Alpha males pursue beautiful women and that is a small minority of men.

Straw man. I did not say looks trumped everything else. I said they were A necessary component for attraction, I did not say they were the be all and end all.

@Takandjive, that is pretty much my mentality too. Looks are important, but personality is a necessary component too. I don't want someone who is good looking but boring, or rightwing or sexist.

You're quoting the study out of context.

The researchers found that there exists a significant discrepancy in terms of male and female sex drives, which is both cultural and biological in origin. By extrinsic motivation to have sex, they are referring to the fact that the vast majority of women need to be paid or receive something material in exchange for sex. Moreover, the cultural suppression of female sexuality that they speak of is women suppressing the sex drives of other women in order to maximize their financial gain from having sex.

Women are attracted to attractive and interesting and driven men for all sorts of reasons. My primary reason is I'm an educated, pretty, motivated woman and I don't bother myself with lazy dipshits, but rather than tell men publicly that they're worthless, I just do not respond to their little cues they're interested in me. Doesn't mean I'm not into sex.

One, you didn't read my point, I said looks were AN IMPORTANT COMPONENT, I did not say they were EVERYTHING.

Two, men are different re: looks??? I never noticed.

There is a reason why women like thick muscles, height, jagged facial lines, etc.

Those things are an indicator of high testosterone, thus, the guy is likely to have healthy children.
