Do you acknowledge that leprechauns, jackelopes and Santa Claus exist, and that the only reason you don't have evidence for them is because you just weren't looking hard enough?

I'm not a Biblical scholar I just read what they publish and consensus is that Jesus was an apocalyptic Jew, like many in the first century.
The end of times is coming soon, repent and receive the good news. (Paraphrasing Mark)
He was a Jew so that meant, be a good Jew, Keep the Jewish law be nice to each other and you will be received into the new Kingdom. Fail to do that and you will be destroyed by Yhwh.
The kingdom will be here on earth not up in the sky.

Nope, it specifically mentions the actual father of Joseph, then grandfather, great grandfather and they are all different.
There are also a different number of generations.

Consensus is that both lines are not historical ie inventions. Certainly not consistent with each other.

If one was accurate it would mean that the mythological people in the old testament were real, Luke mentions Noah, Jesus real=Flood real if Lukes geneology is correct. hmmm it does get to a point when more faith is required.

No idea what's been discussed because I can't understand the opening poster.

The geneologies have interested me for a while. Luke 17:26-27 adds to the mystery, it suggests Jesus believed in the flood.

Actually good question.

You really find out what Christianity is about by reading the new testament. As a religion I firmly believe it is about money to some, money and control to some and just blatant control by some. Creating a mental wall between us and God. Jesus told us where the temple is. It's not a brick building! The churches they built were/and are beautiful and a gentle reminder of the saints of Christianity.

I think christianity is teaching us up to date morals, creating a new covenent which meant the gentiles(any none jew) could speak through Jesus to the God of the Israelites. Virtues like love, kindness, compassion, few others I think. It's a teaching of peace, with a hollywood blockbuster being the last book in the holy bible.
