I'm going with extraordinary assertions require extraordinary evidence. You think he should make a public apology for "his appalling behaviour". Do enlighten us as to this behaviour which was not considered appalling enough to be banworthy until HE requested a ban but necessitates an apology to unban him.

Yes I remember that. I thought it was a pity that Ron(perplexity), implanck, ToR and satyr were not given a chance - all of them were superlative posters in their chosen fields of interest. John [IAC] I think they did a favour, he received very shabby treatment from the posters and was gracious inspite of very poor treatment. I was not surprised that the monkey was put aside because of the Ego of the Person Involved. There is a tendency in sci to put aside legitimate posters who post really thought provoking stuff by putting them into pigeonholes based on their personalities while dismissing their contributions. Its the exact reverse of how science actually works.

If you note, almost all of those posters were banned after prolonged pissing contests which had nothing to do with their better posts but due to trolling and baiting them on personal issues or by labelling them as "mental cases" or misogynists or kooks - many were hounded into bans. I had many discussions with Ron on Buddhism, Satyr/Wanderer on his perspectives of the de-masculinisation of society, ToR on her various issues and I never encountered any problems even though, most of the time I was in direct opposition to their views and very forthright in my opposition.
ron WAS given a chance.

another instance was when he started crying about someone "stealing" his avatar.
remember "red army dictat"? well we did the same thing to ron which made him furious.
it was hilarious.

Yeah very funny. They were basically hounded by certain members and mods looked the other way - this is not special to sci, its basically how social conformity is enforced everywhere, so I won't go into those bans.
I am only interested in the monkeys because three years of holding a grudge over someone like spurious is just too childish for words - his contributions far outweigh one hissy fit over mod issues where HE asked for a ban. There is a lack of graciousness in these forums which comes from an inability to move past personal issues and appreciate people for who they are rather than who we think they should be.
I don't like people being considered disposable simply because of unrealistic expectations being held against them.

I think I was specific enough. I think you suck because you make huge uninteresting posts that make me cringe, ban people I like, and generally move sciforums into becoming a major snorefest. You guys have mods closing down discussions and banning people because they feel like it. Then when someone complains you go "point noted" and lock that too.
