Is ESP real?

You usually provoke insults

No, he/she doesn't. others are far more sarcastic, disrespectful, condescending, flaming and assume an air of superiority of what is real or not.

Whatever that means. You're not really about having a dialogue with anyone are you?

I'm excited because it IS true. But not because it is some power I could use to my advantage. Rather, what does the existence of psychic abilities say about the nature of mind and reality---their interrelations, and the future evolution of mankind?

The future is technology, not meditation, or development of third eye awakening. At least in the mainstream.

You may have watched these videos already. But if you haven't, you may be interested.

I wonder if these kids are the result of science, or nature. Nowadays it can be hard to tell. What do you think?

what's with you people and fairies? has anyone ever mentioned fairies except you so-called skeptics? is it some type of fetish you have?

i don't personally believe in fairies, no.

Don't forget pink unicorns, the invisible dragon in the garage, and the spaghetti monster. ;)

on the subject of fairies. it can be real in some context. if one's belief in fairies or just a whimsical hobby interest produces positive feelings, then that would translate to spreading positive feelings to the world, right? so in that sense, something can still have a real effect, even if it's not tangibly or literally real.

as long as it's known (most people do) that it's merely an idea but still a relatively harmless one so i don't see a problem with fairies that needs to be viewed as harmful false ideas like it's the plague to society.

so much of society is an actual construct from our conceptual thinking. we also create the society according to our abstract ideas. this can take benign, negative or positive proportions. i see the belief in fairies as positive and lovely and don't see a problem with it. i think it's cute, sweet and whimsical. probably even helps positive mood and feelings of good will. so a fairy can be a metaphorical representation of some positive aspect of our nature and fairies are an artistic representation of that. that's beautiful to me.

I don't see it as cut and dried like that.
But I do enjoy living, and a lot of what that entails.

I'm 66.6 years old (and holding ;) ). The real world has so much to see, hear, feel, and experience that I disregard fantasies that can only be experienced in one person's mind.

Try sailing through the Straits of Magellan and suddenly note that a mountain on the left ends in an abrupt cliff. And on the other side, a mountain rises abruptly from the water and then tapers off to the south. I make the connection. The north and south cliffs, if pushed together, fitted nicely with the slope smoothly going down. The sudden thought that the southern end of the continent had shifted about a kilometer toward the South Pole at some distant time was stunning.

Arthur Conan Doyle was convinced the Fairies were real. He talked himself into believing the fraudsters, some young girls, had really made connection with the Fairy World. Even a smart man like Doyle can be fooled if he cooperates.

well, he took it literally.
