That is not what a harem is Olga. Chimp girls get all the guys, that way when the female is pregnant, all the guys could have that child.

The women can only gestate one baby at a time. The number of preganancies is directly limited by the number of females.
And the men will fight over her to be the one who passes on his genes.
And she's out-of-commission for at least some portion of her pregnancy.
And if anything happens to her, they'e totally screwed. If anything happens to that one baby, they've got to start again.
This is why female harems work well for population growth.
One man can impregnate as many females as there are in the group.
The women don't need to fight, since they're all getting their genes passed on - and the fact that the man is never out-of-commission.
And if anything happens to one of the females, they don't lose the whole village.
If they lose the man, it's a lot easier to get another one to volunteer.
It's just the way sexual reproduction works.

Yes. It's a terrible idea from a societal point of view (especially when it's abused and used for power), but a logical solution from a procreation point of view.

That is a separate issue.
No one said a harem has to be inbred.
And no one said we are talking about an isolated community where there is zero new blood.
And no one said the children of that harem will inbreed.
The males that have no female counterparts go out and find other mates.

Marriage is not about natural evolution. Marriage is a societal contract. It will go in and out of fashion.
I think people who want to get married should be able to get married and people who don't want to don't have to.
In general, I am againat other people making decisions about what consenting adults get up to in their own lives, so in that sense, I am against assertions that invoke the word 'should', as in your question.

Ну я не имела ввиду "должны" в смысле "обязаны". Я с вами согласна, что никто не должен посягать на чью то свободу выбора.
