No, I didn't say that. I said that you don't ned to worry about units unless you're trying to measure something. At the moment, we're not trying to measure the energy in the gasoline. We're just trying to get you to understand that it's there.

I do in fact worry about HOW MUCH energy is in the gas. You claim the gas has energy, but you can't tell me how much.

Help me then! I need help understanding how much energy is spread out in 1 gallon of gasoline? What I want to know is how many kw-hr of energy is spread out in a gallon of gasoline? You made the claim, now you want it to go away???

No, we need to start with what a unit of energy is. You've demonstrated to me beyond a reasonable doubt that you don't understand what energy is and what a unit of energy is. So we need to start crawling before we start walking, eh?

I understand that heat melts plastic. I understand that gas is in a plastic container. I understand that the gas is not melting the container.

You, on the other hand, claim the gas has spread out energy, but you want to try to withhold information about how much energy is spread out in the gas.

I don't know how to ask any more clearly. How much energy is spread out in the gas? How many kw-hr is spread out in the gas?
 
That's a start. You also understand, as you stated earlier, that ice melts in water. Do you also understand that ice will melt in gasoline?

I don't know, what is the temp of the gas and what is the temp of the ice? If the gas is 30 degrees and you put a 30 degree ice cube in the gas, and the room is 30 degrees, you're saying the ice cube will melt due to heat?

I haven't said anything about numbers. Like your own example, think of a can of gasoline at room temperature and an ice cube. Will the gasoline melt the ice? If so, how? If not, why not?
