OK. It's been said that 99% of men masterbate and the other 1% are liars. I've never heard a statistic for females. Let's solve the eternal question once and for all. How often do you masterbate (you can also include actual sex, unless you never masterbate, we'll assume you would have if you hadn't had sex). Oh, and for once I'll make this a private poll.

Why was this cesspooled? Are discussions on human sexuality banned from the human science section? The thread Physiological Value of Continence is some wacko theory about the beneficial health effects of not masterbating. It was that thread that gave me the idea for this one.

It seems funny that threads about how you'll go blind from masterbating are acceptable on a science forum, but a thread about a basic aspect of human sexuality is not.

LOL, what discussion??
I was interested in the responses, especially from female members. Furthermore, after I created the thread, I didn't vote and meant to do it later. When I checked the thread today, I couldn't vote. Was the poll shut down in addition to cesspooling the thread?

I used to masterbate, I no longer do. I don´t want to loose a part of myself in the process.

M*W: Hear me now, believe me later! It is very important for men to achieve ejaculation at least three times per week (by any method) to ensure a healthy prostate.

what does the prostate have to do with the testicles production of semen?
The testicles produce sperm, a very important part of semen, but it constitutes well below a majority of it. Do you think men who've had a vasectomy shoot air? The volume of their semen is about the same, just no sperm.

Just a little pet peeve I have, but it's masturbation, not masterbation.
Damn! I thought that looked kind of funny. That must be why the thread was cesspooled. Poor spelling.

Why don't we have spell check on this forum?

I've met men who prefer their own touch to another's. Kind of like they prefer porn to the real thing. The fantasy was better than the reality.

Didn't the lead singer of Blues Travelers have a heart attack while masturbating?

I have heard this, and I think that is not true; when the sperm dies (60 days lifespan), the semen nutrients are re-absorbed by the body. Besides, this energy can be transformed into other manifestations of bio-energy, like compassion or intelligence through adequate meditation.

Ispite of all this, I have a wife, the fact that I don´t spank the monkey doesn´t make me celibate.

If what you said is true, there would be a very high prostate problem insidence in Buddhists, Daoists, Hindus, Chinese and Yogic people:

Value of Semen

From wiki:
"Semen is currently and has long been revered by Buddhist, Daoist and Hindu traditions as a very important constituent of human physiology."

"Chi Kung and Chinese medicine places huge emphasis on a form of energy called 精(pinyin: jing1, also a morpheme denoting "essence" or "spirit")[7] [8] - which one attempts to develop and accumulate, jing is sexual energy and is considered to dissipate with ejaculation so masturbation is considered "Energy Suicide" amongst those who practice this art. According to Chi Kung theory, energy from many pathways/meridians becomes diverted and transfers itself to the sexual organs during sexual excitement, the ensuing orgasm and ejaculation will then finally expel the energy from the system completely. The Chinese proverb 一滴精,十滴血(pinyin: yi4 di1 jing1, shi2 di1 xue3, literally: a drop of semen is equal to ten drops of blood) illustrates this point.

The scientific term for semen in Chinese is 精液(pinyin: jing1 ye4, literally: fluid of essence/jing) and the term for sperm is 精子(pinyin: jing1 zi3, literally: basic element of essence/jing), two modern terms with classical reference."
