Lesbian

Since I know several young lesbians, I would have to speculate that it happens before menopause. My personal suspicion is it happens in the womb.

Most before, in my experience. Many never "become" lesbian - they always were.

I think that's right.

I know it is the fashion - even to a point of doctrinal insistence, sometimes - that people are born with a particular sexuality. I am sure that is partly true but equally sure it is not wholly true. There are many instances of people changing their sexual orientation during their lives.

As in the old joke:-

"My mother made me a homosexual."

"Oh, if I give her the wool, will she make me one, too?"

I'd think that is a tad too close to the nature versus nurture argument.

If I may quote: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/b/bfskinne378139.html

Also environment is a factor of course... I don't know exactly but, wasn't homosexual sex between males looked good upon for Spartan soldiers so they would have more urge to fight for their lovers?

[EDIT]

I've edited this post like five times already

May I suggest one more edit:

Most likely not spartan soldiers. Perhaps you're thinking of the Sacred Band of Thebes? From 371 bc to 338 bc, they were virtually unbeatable.

Do women become lesbian before menopause ? or after ?
I have a kinfolk who was married twice to men... an now she plans to marry a woman... but i dont know her menopause detales or when she became "queer" (as her mom called her when she first found out that her dauther was lesbian)... but if i find out befor this thred is closed i will report it here.!!!

My assumption on menopause is that the female does not ovulate and so the desire might drop off. and so she looks for a companion and not for a male that have desires to beyond 70

Uh - if you are thinking that people are lesbians because they don't want to have sex, then . . . you don't know many lesbians.
