Okay, wow... a few things stick out here:

This year, top White House staff members warned that the National Enquirer was planning to publish a negative article about us unless we begged the president to have the story spiked.

The implications of this are astonishing... our POTUS and the White House are attempting to use TABLOID NEWSPAPERS as attack dogs against perceived political enemies...

Then again, there's the fact that he thinks attacks in the National Enquirer are actually worth the paper they are printed on.

To any actual Republicans here... that believe in what the Republican Party was supposed to be about... what would you say it is going to take before Trump has to go? What is "crossing the line" for him?

    "Donald Trump is not well"

    Oh you just noticed?!?!?

I was reading BBC on this (http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-40458145) and I was wondering if the BBC had become a tabloid because what I was reading was so salacious, so surreal, so obnoxious, that it could not be real serious news, but nope this is our reality, our hell. There is no getting over the fact that our pig lord spends more time and energy on twitter ranting about talkshow hosts and trying to fuck them over, then actually running the country. This may actually be a good thing, his incompetence, laziness and attention deficit may actually be protecting us from his hair-brained impulsive spontaneous ideas on what is best to be done for the nation. For example a few months ago he was saying Obamacare should be best allowed to die naturally because it is so fucked by design or something, then he demanded we destroy it in the legislator, well that has failed now, twice, now he is demanding we just repeal Obamacare and then make a new healthcare policy someday. Anyone of these "plans" making it to reality would cost trillions in damages and cost hundreds of thousands of lives over a decade, but so far we have been saved by his shear incompetence and scatter-braining, how long this idiotic stability will last who knows, but surely it must be unstable.

So . . . . you believe that an 'opinion' article about POTUS by Mika and Joe - when they have just been (and rightly so, IMO!) slammed by POTUS - is likely to be 'real news? HAHA! Adjust your 'tin foil- hats' folks!

Take a moment to read the BBC article please.

Serious just try to think abou itt: why the fuck is the president not doing presidential stuff like running the fucking nations, instead of attacking mika and joe blow-who-gives-a-fuck of some morning news programs for the elderly? Where are trumps priorities? Where is that "winning" he was suppose to get for the nation?

Please, show and explain how this is an "opinion" piece... I mean, are you trying to claim Trump DIDN'T put out those tweets?

Still waiting to see what he can do. All this fuss since his election has been a huge distraction for everyone. As for the Republicans, they are preparing to take ownership of Obama Care--if that's any hint of things to come. I think we are heading for the perfect storm, and very few are prepared.

The "opinion" is that Donald Trump is not well (it is certainly possible that he is, in fact, that much of an asshole intentionally). None the less - you have given us no reason to doubt the veracity of the piece (unless, of course, you DO wish to claim Trump is not suffering dementia or some such, and that he is, in fact, acting this poorly on purpose?)

The sad fact is that Donald Trump, the POTUS, is acting like a spoiled little brat who was just told he couldn't have that new toy at the store, and is now throwing a fit in the aisle, kicking and screaming at the top of his lungs... and guess what, allied nations are taking notice.

Every once in a while I do this bit about "sinister or stupid?" and, well, yeah, that's the thing: If he's that much of an asshole intentionally, then ... I mean ... are we calling that healthy?

Or am I reading the phrase, "it is certainly possible that he is, in fact", wrongly? That is to say, it seems like you're pointing to the escape hatch or release valve or some such, but maybe I'm just missing something.

But, yeah, if it's an either/or, I'm not certain the alternative is any less unwell: At the point that he's sinister, isn't he still stupid? Similarly, at the point he is "that much of an asshole intentionally", isn't he still "not well"?

There seems to be a defense of Trump that he hits back twice as hard when attacked. This seems reasonable (if immature) as a tactic but is it really a cover story?

That is a good tactic in certain situations but it is being done repeatedly and it may be he feels he has the cover of this new position (POTUS) where he is untouchable and can employ people (with apparent authority) to go out and lie on his behalf.

I wonder of this "hit back twice as hard" approach has other examples as a behaviour.

Does it mean that when he is jailed he can be punished 10 times as hard?

My meaning with the either or was demonstrative - that is, I don't believe his tactics (tweet storms et al) are part of some "grand scheme" he has (to be honest, I don't think he has a fucking clue what he's doing - I don't think he ever intended to win, and now that he's there he's flopping like a fish out of water). It would explain why he seems to go along with whatever the last thing said to him is, and why, when nobody is around to control him, he goes completely off reservation.

The alternative being, of course, that his portrayed dementia, insanity, bigotry, and everything else is intentional... which I find even more terrifying because it means he and the Republicans actually have some thought that it will readily appeal to enough of their base to be productive (as well as the more nuanced fact that, well, we have a genuine douchebag as POTUS)

That is the thing. This country and the world has serious issues that need addressing and we have a president that is spending time attacking Morning Joe and CNN. When people went to the voting booths last November did they elect him to spend a good part of the day attacking cable news people he didn't like? Or did they elect him to solve problems and to lead the country and the world. You know the president of the United States once was called the leader of the free world.

Instead we have the president of the United States tweeting fights:

That may be the silver lining in that his malevolence is less grandiose than petty.

It may also allow the country that elected him to come to realize that its democratic system is perhaps on life support.

Ironically Trump's "America First" slogan may have been right (for the wrong reasons).

Sadly ,even a petty minded POTUS can cause immeasurable harm (as can any man in his position)

    The irony..

People cried foul when a comedian posted an image of herself with a fake Trump head in her hand, just as they whined and attempted to shut down comedy theater that has targeted Presidents in the past, but this year was Trump's turn and they whined about inciting violence, but Trump posting a video inciting violence against the media is "hilarious"...

If and when (and frankly, it is only a matter of time) his again supporters turn on the media and journalists, Trump has just made it much easier for everyone to point the finger at him for inciting said violence.

Meanwhile in the United States of America..

Louisiana’s Department of Health confirmed this week that brain-eating amoeba had been found in two water systems in the state.

Traces of Naegleria fowleri, a single-celled organism that can cause a rare, but fatal, brain disease, was found during routine water testing of Ouachita Parish’s North Monroe Water System and Terrebonne Parish’s Schriever Water System. Health officials assured residents that the tap water in these parishes are still safe to drink, but warned people to avoid getting any of it in their noses.

Really great to see your President has his priorities in the right order...

Thanks for posting substance, Bells. I don't know how to best explain it, other than offer a video that says it best. In short, we never trusted the media. Many of us don't watch television anymore. It's tripe. There is a cultural revolution taking place in America, and it's splitting us down the center. It is an exciting time in history. It's the best show in town. Anyway, if you want to see how others view it, to get a better understanding about what is happening in America, watch the below video. Again, welcome back.

    I'll pass thanks.

People such as yourself, Trump and his followers who get their news from youtube or reddit shows exactly what is wrong with America.

    Exciting time in your history?

    Hmm..

If you think it is exciting to praise or find amusement in inciting violence and hatred, then sure, this would be exciting for you.

And you encapsulated exactly what is wrong with Trump and his presidency:

This is the problem. Your President is treating his administration like a show. A rating's show.

Conservative writer, Kevin D. Williamson put it best:

Trump has shown himself intellectually and emotionally incapable of making the transition from minor entertainment figure to major political figure. He is in the strange position of being a B-list celebrity who is also the most famous man in the world. His recent Twitter attack on Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC’s Morning Joe exemplifies that as much as it does the president’s other by-now-familiar pathologies, notably his strange psychological need to verbally abuse women in physical terms.

Trump may have his problems with women, but it is his unrequited love of the media that is undoing him.

“I always tell the president, ‘You don’t need them,’” says Sean Hannity, the self-abasing monkey-butler of the Trump regime. The president, Hannity says, can reach more Americans via Twitter than he could through the conventional media. That isn’t true, of course: Only about one in five Americans uses Twitter. Hannity might be forgiven for not knowing this, a consequence of his much more general habit of not knowing things. But he actually does know the president. How could he possibly believe that this man — this man — does not need them?

He needs them the way a junkie needs his junk.

Donald Trump cares more about how he is perceived in the media than he cares about anything else in the world, including money. Trump is a true disciple of Bishop Berkeley, professing the creed of the social-media age: Esse est percipi— “To be is to be seen.” Trump is incapable of enjoying anything — money, success, sex — without being perceived enjoying it.

Consider: Even though he has in fact been on the cover of Time magazine, it was discovered this week that he had had his people produce some fake Time magazine covers lauding the success of his television show, The Apprentice. He had these fake Time covers displayed at Trump properties around the world. Why? Because Trump, for all his professed contempt for the media, believes that success is not success until it is certified by Time magazine or (avert thine eyes, Hannity!) the New York Times.

    [...]

As president and president-elect, Trump spent a great deal of time tweeting about his ratings as host of The Apprentice and those of his successor, about the ratings of various news programs covering him, about the viewerships and readerships of various media outlets, generally theorizing that those critical of him must by moral necessity be in decline. On the other hand, he plainly does not know that there are tax provisions in the health-care bill Republicans are trying to drag out of Congress: He was perplexed when they came up at a White House meeting with Republican senators, saying that he was planning on taking on tax reform at a later date, oblivious to the content of the bill he purports to be negotiating. He doesn’t understand what’s going on between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, but has taken to Twitter to argue — surprise — that, whatever it is, it’s all about him.

What do you think he reads first in the morning: His national-security briefing or Page Six? I’d wager that Trump could list at least three times as many cable-news commentators as world leaders. He is much better versed in CNN’s lineup than in NATO’s.

Doesn’t need the media? He is the media, a former contract employee at NBC with a sideline in casinos. He was born to conduct Twitter feuds with second-tier cable-television hosts. Figuring out health-care policy?

    Nobody watches that
    .

You and his sycophant followers may have stopped watching television and the news. But Trump has not. Why? Because Trump is a media whore who needs constant attention.

You are right, it is the "best show in town". That is how people often describe the latest circus to come to town to perform. Trump has turned the Presidency into a circus and he is the biggest and most famous clown, the one that requires and desires all of the attention and then whines when that attention dares to critique or comment on the dark side of his "show"..

In a week where Trump and his supporters should have been celebrating a Supreme Court victory, instead, the main clown cannot help but draw all the attention to him and him alone in the worst way possible. Because heaven forbid the media focus on something else for a change. Heaven forbid the clown of the "best show in town" is not on the main stage.

In a week where a mass shooting saw a doctor killed, where the war against ISIS in the battle for Mosul is becoming even more brutal, in a week where a brain eating bacteria has been found in a major State's drinking supply, in a week where the battle for health care reform wages, in a week where 25 people were shot in a night club in yet another mass shooting, in a week before Trump is to meet with other world leaders at the G20 meeting.. Trump is more focused on being the clown in the main ring for the "best show in town"..

Of course you think it is exciting. Heaven forbid anyone dares to focus on what actually matters. The clown needs attention and if it means inciting violence to get that attention, then by damn he will incite that violence. He knows that you and his other sycophant followers will only be focused on him and that is exactly what he wants. Because heaven forbid you start to question about things that actually matter.

You're only denying yourself an insight into what's taking place.
But we've wasted 6 months on the Russia collusion farce, how can one tweet compete with that distraction. Certainly if we hadn't been distracted by chasing rabbits set loose by the Left, we could have spent quality time on the issues you mentioned. No, Trumps tweet is perfect and a mild distraction compared to what we have been watching these past months. It's a reflection of how many people feel about the media in general. Anyway, I leave you with some bias confirmation. A video that speaks to you.
