Star Trek vs Warhammer 40k

Are you a fanboy all of a sudden? The Federation fleet gets solo'd by a ISD with the utmost of ease, and yet you actually think it can beat the IoM? Freaking ST fanboy.
The script writers would never allow it.

To put it quite bluntly, since there are a greater number of star trek fans than warhammer fans, they cannot (quite literally) afford to bring warhammer out on top since it would disengage the franchise status quo.

You hear that? The lawyers of the ST are more powerful! Cringe in terror from their razor-sharp legal briefs! You will be pwned by their examination of tort law!

STAR TREK has topped the box office in the USA and internationally on its opening weekend.

The new film, directed by Lost creator J.J. Abrams (pictured above), brought in $76.5million at the US box office and a further $35.5million overseas, to make a global total of $106million.

And it's far from the final frontier - a sequel was already greenlit before the film's release.

A perk of being a director at Games Workshop (LSE: GAW), the creator and retailer of the Warhammer fantasy tabletop wargames, is surely that you have a ready answer for anyone who asks: "You and whose army?" in the form of thousands of tiny orcs, goblins and elves.

More usefully for investors, Games Workshop is also reconnecting with its army of hobbyist fans.

Today's results beat even the upgraded expectations that followed June's trading statement. Full-year revenue for the year ended 31 May was £126m, up 14%, while pretax profits were £7.5m compared to 2008's £1m. After tax, diluted earnings per share came in at 17.4p, compared to a loss of 2.4p.

Do the maths.
Draw your conclusion.

I think the ST guys would just phaser the Games Workshop back-room gamer pen.

Worst. Analogy. Ever.

For one thing, the average ship size for the feds is around 700 meters, max 1000, for WH40k the avergae is 8.5 kilometers the max being 14 kilometers.

And between the space marines and the Imperial guard there are hudnreds of thousands of those kinds of warships.

With the entire WH40k universe theres probably a few million such warships.
The Marines "only" have a few tens of thousands of ships. The Imperial navy, on the other hand, has many millions of multi-km capitol ships, and tens of million of scouting/fleet screening ships that are "only" a few hundred km long.

So far as I know there aren't any real numbers on how many ships the other races/factions have, but it's probably at least in the millions.

BULLSHIT! YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT STAR WARS! YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE SUN CRUSHER, GALAXY GUN, OR WORLD DEVASTATORS NOW DO YOU? Let me quote Base Delta Zero:
It denoted the most severe of several levels of destruction that could be directed against a center of resistance, and involved laying waste to an entire planet by orbital bombardment, reducing the upper crust of a planet to molten slag or in extreme cases going so far as to atomize the planet's top-soil.

A Base Delta Zero fleet bombardment was regarded as one of the most devastating operations that the Imperial military was capable of, and unlike other Imperial military codes, the designation was not subject to change, so that there was never any confusion when it was issued. Due to its effects, BDZs were considered a last resort.

And the Death Star having a bigger hole in RotJ? Are you smoking crack or something it was UNDER CONSTRUCTION and that hole would have been closed.

Turbolasers are lasers? YOU ARE ON CRACK. It is stated turbolasers are a fucking name damn it. They fucking shoot plasma! Besides your pathetic shitty ships do 100 gigawatts and ISD's do 1.2 teratons per turbolaser. Hey retard, did you ever hear of the word google? An ISD can destroy a planet in less than ten minutes. The DS would destroy your pathetic Federation.

You just lost

Well first off phasers are still more powerful than plasma guns

And the empire doenst use plasma otherwise theyd be plasma turrets not laser cannons

Second, a teraton is a measure of weight not power.

Second, they dont have that kind of power and we both know it.

The death star moves at a snails rate and turns even slower, what makes you think it be able to hit the ship?

Your guns are weaker and ur torps are weaker. End of story

I disagree, they can barely bring in gigatons when Imperium fleets easily bring in 600 gigatons.

Isotons, I think they called it. And they can modify weapon yields faster than you can change the oil in your moped. Not only that but the writers have had how many years of thinking up new technology to introduce, modify, reconfigure, combine, etc?

Right away, the Star Trek looks easy to punk. But there's so many years worth of shit, you'd have to seriously contemplate it for like a month per series to REALLY give a proper opinion.

For instance... on DS9, there was a technology presented... Imagine THIS integrated into starships:

and for personal use:

You may or may not know what these are, but lets just say once you can mess with the laws of probability so they always work in your favor, it's not likely you'd lose. Period.

Given the many, many millions of huge warships in 40k, it seems like the numbers alone would probably swamp the ST universe. Even if they are so inferior that the ST races can destroy their ships with ease, the ST races could probably slaughter them all day and night for years without ever really making a dent in the numbers.

If the numbers are offset by that much then it shouldn't even have been brought up. :bugeye:

OH MY GOD. How stupid are you? FUCKING RETARD. If you knew shit you'd know that ISD has more firepower than all of the Federation. Hey fucking moron there is a thing called Google, GOOGLE FUCKING BASE DELTA ZERO YOU STAR TREK FAGOLA!

These forums are retarded as every faggot LOVES ST and ignores SW's superiority which IS FACT. ST retards even said that ST can beat Doctor Who... WHAT IS WRONG WITH STAR TREK FANS? Are you mentally retarded or something?

Looks like you're the one who's flipped his lid. You're the one who is so obsessed with it that you come on here and within a dozen or so posts, you're going caps lock like that REALLY makes the text that much more substantial. If disagreement is too much for you to handle, try not getting into debates. Maybe you'd have more fun playing with your comic books?

Okay, Galactus > Q, Eternity > Q, Living Tribunal > Q, Beyonder > Q, Molecule Man > Q, Celestials > Q, and Franklin Richards > Q.
