Why are animal rights suporters so intolerant?

I think that the shooting of Ruth Downey's cows was for sport. I just read that the original SPCA of Great Britain was into things like fox hunts at the same time that they expressed contempt for the animal entertainment that the lower classes indulged in.

Hasn't anyone noticed how sneaky animal rights activists have to be these days? This means that you also have to be careful about the use of the label. You have to identify behavior and what the people promote, such that we take care that we know that as human beings with human rights we have the right to eat meat and keep property, and that those are essential rights. Animal rights pissed in its own soup, and they're trying to run away from that image. That image needs to remain stuck to them like superglue on McGee's shoes.

Have you noticed how much time people waste posting unsupported allegations about supposed motivations because they think they should be able to treat animals however they like?

I posted support for the allegations like the gut-shot cattle and burning houses down. Both are a little too well documented for any credible denial.

The idea that a human should be able to treat animals however they like is rationally supportable too. It is a perfectly good rationale that humans are animals and have at least as much right to freedom of action as does any other animal. Most people prefer kindness to cruelty and I think that when people realize that it's OK to be kind to animals they can be trusted to do so without coercion. That's the good side of being able to treat animals however people like. Most people like being kind. Even you.

What of the people who want to hurt animals?

Do you think they should be allowed to hurt animals?

of course he does james, just like he wants to be able to beat up his wife and children and rape them as he sees fit. Someone plucked a cave man out of the 1st century (if not before) and some how managed to teach it to use a computer isnt that ovious?

That is because of corruption. But it is still legal to kill animals. If they illegalize killing animals, hopefully, it probably be won't be leigitimately enforced anyway. Things rarely are.

Depends where you live, and under what circumstances. There are game seasons, and protected species, so no, you can't just go out and kill animals.

RSPCA Monopoly

Are people so stupid that they dont see what the RSPCA are doing, there has been a recent spate of RSPCA prosecutions against animal sanctuary owners, people who take in sick, distressed and abandoned animals, why would the RSPCA do this ? in one case the MP Frank Field heavily criticised the RSPCA's prosecution, well perhaps if they take out the competition they will have a complete monopoly !!!! they can then generate more funding with no other competing causes.
And why would the RSPCA want to ban pets being sold in pet shops, to stop impulse purchases, or a more sinister motive ? I think the later.
And what about freedom foods, a license to print money with no real improvement in welfare standards ! this is all about money and control, NOT ANIMAL WELFARE, WAKE UP !!!!!

Please support your allegations with stories from a reputable source.

People with less than 20 posts here can't post links, so could I ask that you google Frank Field RSPCA BBC. If you do you will find the story Public Opinion mentioned. If you follow the links to the File at 4 page on the BBC site, you can listen again to the program broadcast last month. Another story from what I think you'll believe is a reputable source can be found if you google disabilitynow RSPCA. It cames up as the first link for me.

faunacation, you can link. Just leave off the www which will stop it being merged into a web link

now back up your statements

From that story;

"Mrs Seager, of Green Lawn, Rock Ferry, who has taken in strays for the past 40 years, pleaded guilty of failing to meet the needs of animals in her care. "

She admitted guilt. What's your problem with this story then?

RSPCA bully boys march in mob handed like the animal SS, and intimidate a little old lady, along with loads of coppers (Public money ???) start taking away animals, and taking statements, and throwing their weight around, I'd confess, this isnt a democracy or animal welfare state its a witch hunt. Take a look at the "links Group"
If what you hear about the RSPCA dosent sit well, why not consider supporting other worthwhile animal charities.
If MP's are starting to ask questions about the RSPCA there is something wrong !!!!!

She pleaded guilty, and your embellishments don't change that.

Now, got a real case to make a point?

when an animal walks into the courtroom and starts demanding their rights then i'll listen.
until then where's my roast beef?

When an animal lies on the butcher's slab and asks the butcher to make it quick then I'll stop supporting animal rights.

lol.. explain ?

Just my response to voyager's post.... meaning that if animals could fight for their own rights (or show that they don't want any rights) then I wouldn't be advocating animal rights on their behalf.
As it is they cannot, so it's up to humans to speak for them.
