UFOs (UAPs): Explanations?

You used the word "just" - as in "just a category or report".
I did not.

You are conflating reports that are not resolved and thus cannot be ascribed to the same cause.- like Loch Ness and Yeti. That is bad science.

What is bad science is ignoring knowledge because of a mindset .

Where did I say that?
(Fer cryin; out loud. We literally just went over this. Start back at post 3367.)
You try to lump all sort of different reports into one as if they're all the same:

"... a structured aerial wingless craft with illuminating lights performing extraordinary and even evasive flight maneuvers suggests highly intelligent intent, not some random fluke of nature...."
"After thousands of eyewitness accounts repeating these same details about ufos, I'm pretty sure it's fact by now."

You are conflating multiple accounts. You can't conflate do that until the have been resolved.

Otherwise, one could just as easily argue "There are thousands of cryptids spotted all over the world. This can;t be a coincidence. Obviously they're all due to the same cause."

No.
Since they haven;t been resolved, that means
1] It isn't even fact that there were real things to be sighted - unresolved means they can have been misidentifications of mundane critters, and
2] there's no way to link them, since different ones may well have different solutions (some are misIDs, some are hoaxes, some will never be resolved, some might well be bona fide). You simply can't say "they're all the same thing".
And you certainly can't say they're fact.

Who is claiming these ufo reports are unresolved? You?
If they were, then by definition, they wouldn't be UFOs, would they? They'd be IFOs.

Or hoaxes, or Venus, or human craft that have been positively ID'd. Yes, those ones are resolved, and are no longer classified as UFOs.

The context of MR .

No..a ufo account is resolved precisely because there is no other explanation other than that it is a ufo. A ufo account can't be an ifo account at the same time.
