I figured that was your intention Skaught, but it has become a crapfight.. sadly.

Thanks En. Although I will admit, I am surprised at how intensely some people feel about this topic. I didn't think it would spark such heated discussion. As such, it is entertaining.

Although I am somewhat in agreement with greenberg. I do think a requirement for moderatorship should be better spelling than asguard is known for. Like I said above, I don't think it is a sign of lack of intelligence, but I do think it is a sign of laziness. Especially considering all the criticism he has gotten for it. And I don't buy the excuse that he cant point out the correct spelling out of a list. more often than not there aren't more than one or two options that pop up on my spell checker, and I think if he can read ok, then there shouldn't be any problem using a spell checker.

I don't think that asguard should be removed for it, not do I think any less of him because of his poor spelling. I just think thats mods should be held to higher standards than everyone else, and that standard should include good spelling, or at least the ability to spell check...

Ok I'm talking in circles now...

I actually find it rotten the way people have treated someone else with a common disorder -- they are the kind that cross the street, and see someone else with a disorder, and then ridicule them.

Sad.

Man, I miss Dragon.

:D

DraQon would correct you on that.

I agree STRONGLY with Skaught. I see it as laziness as well. And a bit rude. Kinda like "Get used to it. Its your problem, not mine."

And if I ever had a doctor who had crappy spelling, I'd get another doctor. That's all I'd need, for her to misspell a prescription and me ending up with something that could kill me. :(

And reiku, you're acting like a 2 yr old throwing a tantrum. Your message gets lost in the rant.

I never did any tagging.

I actually, like you. You seem level-headed. So you can understand my disappointment, when you somehow equivalently related a down syndrome to necessary bad spelling.

As i said, i bet there are plenty down syndrome who can spell better than even Shakespeare himself.

Exactly. A doctor of all people GD BETTER be able to spell.

I said that Down's syndrome sufferers spell badly from my experience.
I wouldn't make a generalisation based on my own narrow experience.

Please tell me if and where I did so that I can apologise.

I highly doubt that. Have you ever met or worked with or hung out with people with downs?

Well, you can see it as laziness, but we can't know it's not a real condition. Most doctors agree that it is.
Sure, maybe he could put in a bit more effort but it probably wouldn't amount to much, or it will take him a long time to complete a single post.

Do you criticize someone that stutters ? I see that as a similar condition..
