Why raise the bar?

& if "safer" then it = more profit for insurance companys which in turn means they should be funding the self driving car technology and spending money on civil and legal research to help transform the mechanisms.

Obviously if less people were the victims of motor vehicle accidents the world would be a better and safer place.
