Dimash Kudaibergen "S.O.S D'un Terrien en detresse", "Adagio", "Your Love", Mademoiselle Hyde", "Passion". Этого исполнителя на Западе знают?youtube.com/watch?v=ng8mh6JUIqY
Love it.
He's getting noticed, but mainly through "reaction" videos (people being amazed at his range, control, verstality, etc). He's certainly well known in the "vocal community" - i.e. those that appreciate good singers - and from what I've heard he's near, if not at, the top in terms of his combination of verstality, control, and range. He's phenomenal. But he won't break into the mainstream for two reasons: 1, he doesn't sing all that much in English, and 2, his songs tend toward Eastern influences.Dimash Kudaibergen "S.O.S D'un Terrien en detresse", "Adagio", "Your Love", Mademoiselle Hyde", "Passion". That's not to say he doesn't have a fanbase in the West, and he would likely fill out concert halls when he performs. But if popularity was based only on ability, he should be a lot more popular than he is.
Nothing to do with either. Everything to do with how it sounds to me. That's how we tend to judge what music we like, and similarly what music sounds awful to us."Awful."
So much for Diversity and Inclusion.
LOL! I don't hate myself at all, and people are free to enjoy whatever music they want. Even you. But I am also entitled to my opinion, just as you are. Does my opinion, my dislike of it, stop you from enjoying it? If so, then you would be a strange little man, indeed. If not, stop being a twat. You're watching cross-cultural adaptation in action and you hate yourself so much that you can't allow anyone else to enjoy the moment more than you?
Not unsurprising, as they mix 80s pop, electronic, and power metal in a rather unique way."Belladonna", et al.
My first thought was "90's".
Yeah, 'cos noone likes music that takes influences from yesterday, right? Noone's allowed to enjoy music that, what, is from 2020 or before, right? The world has moved on, as it always does. ')
Ha. People such as myself like the music from 300-400 years ago best.Nothing to do with either. Everything to do with how it sounds to me. That's how we tend to judge what music we like, and similarly what music sounds awful to us.

To me, that Babymetal track sounds awful. Not because of who they are, what they are, where they come from, but simply because it sounds awful to me.
If you want to explain why you think it is "kick ass", feel free. Or do you want to continue irrelevantly attacking character?

Oh.
Wait.
Is that Babymetal track from 2020? So old fashioned!!
Try moving to 2021 at least!

All rock musicians know this.Nothing beats Bach
But they have missed the drama of his great Mass in C Minor. Just listen to the key change progressions in Qui Tollis from the Gloria, winding up the tension tighter and tighter:

Yes. I've sung this. The quiet "miserere" sections are all off the beat, which is quite tricky when you have get back on the beat again, for the loud sections. There are 2 4-part choirs singing antiphonally, against each other. It's very dramatic. This recording is the Monteverdi choir conducted by John Eliot Gardiner, so about as good a performance as you will find.If that does not touch your soul nothing will.
Reminds me of this. I probably heard this for the first time when I saw the film "Amadeus."But they have missed the drama of his great Mass in C Minor. Just listen to the key change progressions in Qui Tollis from the Gloria, winding up the tension tighter and tighter:

I've never seen that set up before, the trombone is practically in the tenors ear!Yes. I've sung this.
