Kick Ass Stuff

Awful. Barely rises above noise. And the vocals are played around with too much. At least they're not pretending that they haven't been.
Never seen the attraction of their music, to be honest. They did a collaboration with ElectricCallBoy - RATATATA - that was much more my cup o' tea.

As for being "kick ass", that rather depends on how you prefer your "ass" to be "kicked".
My go-to at the moment is Beast in Black: their Dark Connection album. Pretty much every track kicks proverbial butt - but may a bit too... melodic... for your taste.

Belladonna

Highway to Mars

Dimash Kudaibergen "S.O.S D'un Terrien en detresse", "Adagio", "Your Love", Mademoiselle Hyde", "Passion". Этого исполнителя на Западе знают?
He's getting noticed, but mainly through "reaction" videos (people being amazed at his range, control, verstality, etc). He's certainly well known in the "vocal community" - i.e. those that appreciate good singers - and from what I've heard he's near, if not at, the top in terms of his combination of verstality, control, and range. He's phenomenal. But he won't break into the mainstream for two reasons: 1, he doesn't sing all that much in English, and 2, his songs tend toward Eastern influences.

That's not to say he doesn't have a fanbase in the West, and he would likely fill out concert halls when he performs. But if popularity was based only on ability, he should be a lot more popular than he is.

Он поёт на разных языках, и в разных стилях.
Чтобы быть популярным у народных масс, нужно отражать их видение красоты и гармонии. Так же как Бетховен, или Моцарт не всем близок и понятен. Это для ценителей.

My first thought was "90's".

"Awful."

So much for Diversity and Inclusion.

You're watching cross-cultural adaptation in action and you hate yourself so much that you can't allow anyone else to enjoy the moment more than you?

Who elected you?

Nothing to do with either. Everything to do with how it sounds to me. That's how we tend to judge what music we like, and similarly what music sounds awful to us.

LOL! I don't hate myself at all, and people are free to enjoy whatever music they want. Even you. But I am also entitled to my opinion, just as you are. Does my opinion, my dislike of it, stop you from enjoying it? If so, then you would be a strange little man, indeed. If not, stop being a twat.

To me, that Babymetal track sounds awful. Not because of who they are, what they are, where they come from, but simply because it sounds awful to me.

If you want to explain why you think it is "kick ass", feel free. Or do you want to continue irrelevantly attacking character?

Not unsurprising, as they mix 80s pop, electronic, and power metal in a rather unique way.

Yeah, 'cos noone likes music that takes influences from yesterday, right? Noone's allowed to enjoy music that, what, is from 2020 or before, right?
Oh.
Wait.
Is that Babymetal track from 2020? So old fashioned!!
Try moving to 2021 at least!

The world has moved on, as it always does. ;)

Ha. People such as myself like the music from 300-400 years ago best.

I do love Mozart. My favourite classical composer by a long way. One of my favourite movies ever is Amadeus. It may not be entirely accurate but it is fun, and the music... :)

The rest is probably on a piece by piece basis, but with Mozart there's almost an underlying aura to his pieces that just lifts the soul.

Did keep seeing this in my YouTube feed, and it's a fun version...

Just trolling for some attitude.

My tastes are not likely to be yours. But your passions may be similar.

Nothing is what it seems to be. You posted. You were motivated.

But they have missed the drama of his great Mass in C Minor. Just listen to the key change progressions in Qui Tollis from the Gloria, winding up the tension tighter and tighter:

Qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis = (you) who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
If that does not touch your soul nothing will.

Yes. I've sung this. The quiet "miserere" sections are all off the beat, which is quite tricky when you have get back on the beat again, for the loud sections. There are 2 4-part choirs singing antiphonally, against each other. It's very dramatic. This recording is the Monteverdi choir conducted by John Eliot Gardiner, so about as good a performance as you will find.

Reminds me of this. I probably heard this for the first time when I saw the film "Amadeus."
Probably heard bits and pieces in films and TV but not aware of it in sit down ready, this is Mozart, listen mode.

The opening is beyond beautiful and he just keeps ramping it up. If I was still a theist I would say this is god given, no one human could create this, he must had divine inspiration.

I've never seen that set up before, the trombone is practically in the tenors ear!
