I said CASE CLOSED, dammit!
You're wrong. Case open. There's even giant bug looking UFOs that have been photographed during the day.I said CASE CLOSED, dammit!
It's not every day – or every expedition – that begins with a request from a country's head of government formally requesting that a specimen be captured of a creature so elusive, and deadly, that western science does not even recognise its existence. Nevertheless, that is precisely what happened in 1922 when eminent American palaeontologist Prof. Roy Chapman Andrews met the Mongolian premier in order to obtain the necessary permits for the American Museum of Natural History's Central Asiatic Expedition to search for dinosaur fossils in the Gobi Desert. And the creature that the Mongolian premier instructed him to procure? None other than the lethal allghoi khorkhoi – or, as it is nowadays commonly referred to throughout the world, the Mongolian death worm.
A previous ghost, known for attacking children, was reported to have terrorised the islands for six months.
A giant bug appeared over the Tahoe City Marina Tuesday afternoon outside of Jake's on the Lake restaurant, and was caught in action by a local webcam.
Authorities are investigating the strange occurence, which is rumored to be the second of its kind in as many years, however, no clues as to the bug's orgin have yet become available. Immediately after the sighting, local Tahoe TV camera crews attempted to again catch a view of the creature, but were unsuccessful.
Officials at Tahoetopia.com, the operators of the webcam that caught the image, have suggested that the bug may in fact be a prank to draw attention to the Tahoe region. Thus far, this supposition is unconfirmed, but Tahoetopia has reported recent spikes in visits to the webcam page, presumably by those trying to catch sight of the bug again. Authorities are also looking into reported shenanigans that took place during the "Aloha Tuesdays" party at Jake's on the Lake Tuesday night in search of witnesses or clues.
Anyone sighting bugs or other giant insects is asked to post the sighting quickly on the Tahoetopia.com webcam page's comment section. The webcam can be accessed here.
Recently, I was contacted about an incident which happened in rural Westmoreland County, outside of Mount Pleasant. There were four people traveling in a car during the evening of June 27, 2009, when they saw something very strange crawling on the road ahead of them. A man yelled out from the back seat and pointed ahead, making the others aware of what was occurring.
The witness I interviewed provided a detailed account of what was seen and what had taken place. The first observation involved a creature, which I was told, "looked like a giant caterpillar." The over sized insect crawled from right to left on the road a short distance ahead of the observers.
The creature was described as about 7 inches in length from tip to tip, appeared to be segmented, and moved like a grub. It was primarily a very iridescent white color with a bluish tint, but the witness emphasized that it was not glowing. The critter showed no signs of legs or feet, and had no apparent head or tail. The body was skinnier at the tip ends, and fatter in the center of the body.
As they continued driving, just seconds later, a second similar looking creature was observed as it moved from right to left, then reversed its direction on the roadway. The car full of startled people continued down the country road, and within a very short distance, observed a total of 6 or 7 of the same sort of creature.
Some were in the roadway, while others were on the road side. I was told that one of the last creatures seen was in the middle of the road in front of them, and the shook up driver moved over top of it, but did not hit whatever it was. The driver refused to slow down to take a closer look as to what those things were.
Reportedly, when the observers returned home, they did an internet search to try to find what they had seen. One witness was questioning/wondering that if these were a larva, what kind of creature would emerge from them.
Nov. 2012 – I was working the night shift on an x-ray crew at a material gas plant. This was around 3 am and there was only four of us in the plant at the time. I took this picture after seeing something swaying side to side out of the corner of my eye. I was in the basket of a man lift coming down when I took the picture. By the time I unhooked my harness to get out of the basket the creature was gone. The police were called and walked premises. The officer told me there were 26 UFO sighting calls throughout that night. If you zoom in you can see the silhouettes of eyes and elongated mouth. I have no doubt of what I believed I seen that night. The other person that saw it with me took off running for the truck.
The odd little creature instantly reminded me of the Duende, the terrifying little gnome that keeps popping up in South America. Has he moved up to Texas? I went ahead and did my own enhancement on the image, and sure enough, it certainly looks like there’s a face there, though even creepier, it looks like the visage of a giant insect if you ask me.
The feathery antennae on this male luna moth have over 30,000 sensors. These sensors are so sensitive they can detect the scent of a female moth over two miles away.
If you take a close-up look at an insect, you'll see hairs -- thousands of them -- covering the antennae, eyes, mouth, and other parts of the body. Insect hairs are very sensitive to air movement, pressure, smell, and in some cases, sound. Many insects also have special taste-sensitive hairs.
X-ray imaging of beetles helps confirm that tracheal system design may limit size in insects. More of the body is filled with air-filled tracheal tubes in larger species, particularly in the legs, and so much larger species than exist today might not have room for enough tubes.
Overall, they found that larger beetle species devote a disproportionately greater fraction of their body to tracheal tubes than do smaller species.
The team focused in particular on the passageways that lead from the body core to the head and to the legs. They reasoned that these orifices may be bottlenecks for tracheal tubes, limiting how much oxygen can be delivered to the extremities.
If the orifices to the legs limit beetle size, then why not just grow bigger openings? There may be genetic or developmental barriers that can't be overcome. Or, the issue may be mechanical. Insects wear their skeletons on the outside, and therefore many joints need to be narrow to work. Perhaps an oversized orifice would mean that the leg-body joint wouldn’t bend as well.
Fly fishing on the Musconetcong River in New Jersey with my boss, I saw briefly what I could only describe as "a Praying Mantis Man".
Although the water was clear, there had been heavy rains the past couple of days. We should not have been out there; the river was "smooth" but the current was exceptionally strong. I was leaning backwards and digging my heels into the the gravel but the river was still kicking me along pretty good. Sketchy navigating.
Please know, I am "privy to the paranormal" and always have been. Shadow people, ghosts, whatever. But what I encountered that day was not Spirit. It was a "biological", living creature. But it disappeared into thin air almost as soon as I saw it.
For whatever reason, my searches at the time turned up nothing. But then by chance I came across an 'Alien Race' type video on Youtube and there in the artwork I saw what I saw: "Ancient Mantis Leaders". So when I began searching "Mantis Alien" instead of "Praying Mantis Man", I found a lot more.
They say they are "Inter-dimensional", whatever that means, but I did not get that impression. No, this creature was cloaked and because of both my innate sensory perception skills and the particular physical circumstances at the time, (important), --I can add details if you are interested-- I just "Caught it". Movement out of the corner of my eye to my left and there it was---
Humanoid. Tall. 6 foot at least --no reference points-- but I sense 6'6" - 7'. Moving away from me back up the bank. (I am chest-high in the river) The first thing I see was the 'grasshopper' thigh, but bending forward like a human. Then the whole form. He is looking at me over his shoulder, moving up the bank, astonished, amazed. What, that I am in the water in a strong current, that I can see him? But yes we lock eyes and this creature is astonished-- I get the sense that he can't believe I am in the water, that he can't believe I have seen him, that I am not perturbed at all-- something of all three, I still don't know-- just astonishment and he is actually trying to get away from me and the water!
Triangular Head. Huge, slanted black eyes. Just like a Praying Mantis. It's whole body was gangly, nobby, ((Nobby!) but you could still sense it was powerful, and no-- I would not say it was a "Big Bug"-- it was definitely humanoid despite the mantis/insect qualities...
No, I did not tell my boss about this, who was in the water too about fifty yards behind me at the time. Being "privy to the paranormal" you just see these things and sort of go "okay". No fear, no nothing-- but I do get the sense that my "whatever" attitude contributed to this creature's astonishment. Frankly, I didn't give the encounter much though until recently.
.................
This took place in Hackettstown, NJ. The stretch of the Musconetcong River here is unusual in that it's west bank borders Rt. 46, (a local highway, congested with lots of stores) but the east bank where we were fishing borders fields and farmlands.
No bank to speak of on the developed side, but the sloping bank on the rural side was high (ten feet?) A strip of trees about 10 - 20 yards thick separated the river from the fields beyond, but there was the occasional gap/path, each about 20 yards wide that allowed clear access to the river.
Like I mentioned, the weather had been bad the previous several days, and the sky was white and heavy. It was mid-afternoon.
When I saw The Mantis Man, it was in one of these gaps, moving back up the bank towards the fields, looking back at me over its left shoulder. About 15 - 20 yards away.
So understand that it was several feet above me (I looked up at it) and framed clearly against that blank/white sky. Like a full ghost apparition, it was indeed clear but nevertheless nearly transparent and fading fast. Then it "evaporated" mid-stride.
Again, I stress the strong impression that The Mantis Man was cloaked and I "caught it" just right; it abruptly found itself against a "new"/blank background and was adjusting quickly. No, I do not believe it "slipped" into another dimension/plane.
I detected movement and first saw that strong left thigh, (and strong right calf) then the whole thing and immediately those eyes/face. The whole encounter was only a couple of seconds. I can not tell you with any strong certainty what its feet or hands looked like --I wasn't looking there-- but I can tell you that its arms were "normal", and not the literal Mantis forelegs I have recently seen in drawings of these "Aliens".
Abduction researcher Brian Thompson claims that a nurse acquaintance of his reported that during 1957 in Cincinnati she encountered a 3-foot-tall (0.91 m) praying mantis-like entity two days after a V-shaped UFO sighting. This mantis-like creature is reminiscent of the insectoid-type entity reported in some abduction accounts. He related this report to fellow researcher Leonard Stringfield. Stringfield told him of two cases he had in his files where separate witnesses reported identical circumstances in the same place and year.
Abduction researcher Karla Turner in her book Into the Fringe reported that a man called David remembered an encounter with a giant mantis during an hypnosis session.
Linda Moulton Howe in Glimpses of Other Realities describes some claims of alien mantis. The book includes the cases of Linda Porter and David Huggins. In 1988 Linda Porter remembered an abduction by alien mantis which she said took place when she was a child. In the same year 1988 David Huggins remembered an encounter with alien mantis that he said took place in the 1950s, when he was a child. The book report also the case of Jeanne Robinson, which said she have received messages by an alien similar to a mantis. According to Ms Robinson, these aliens are a branch of Greys.
Vicki Cameron in UFO experience in Canada reported a case of an abduction by an insectoid alien similar to a grasshopper.
