As I was saying:
As I just said, we're not annoyed because he believes in ghosts, we're annoyed with his intellectual dishonesty. It is baffling that you need to have this explained to you over and over again.

One man's intellectual dishonesty is another man's religion.

Nope... watch the end of the video... it shows that its a spider out of focus.!!!

Guys,
MR is entitled to his beliefs, however what we observe by his response posts is a certain amount of rudeness and stubbornness in regards to counter propositions of what his evidence is actually showing. He shouldn't need to be rude in response, in fact what most of the posters have attempted to explain is that if he'd spent a little more time on analysing what he posts, he'd already have a clue as to what alternative suggestions are going to be made.

He probably feels that people are picking on him for his posts.

MR.
Those with a view for Science even at a hobbiest level have the need to question everything, it's part of what make Science an interest to them. Your posts make them ask questions and those questions lead to hypothesis and theory in regards to answers, some of which are far stronger than the "belief" position that you claim have. What you need to do is realise that when they question your "belief" they aren't attacking you personally, you might claim they are because it's "your belief" but they are just approaching anything speculative with "Logical reasoning".

When you start getting upset, it comes out in how you write (e.g. snide remarks) and the next thing you know, people aren't being nice to each other and the entire ban concern that some seem to be heavily invested in starts becoming more of a potential avenue.

I'm not suggesting you stop posting threads or that you should stop believing whatever you believe in, but I am suggesting you should realise that not everyone is about "belief" here, after all it's a Science forum, it's suppose to be about Hypothesis, Testing, Evidence and Theory before even getting anywhere near to peer review/consensus. (a "Paranormal" video you find on youtube is pulp-fiction, not science.)

You play very loosely with the word "fact", don't ya...

I dare say this is more of the same that has gotten you in trouble in the past... and i've no intention of stepping between you and the firing squad this time

Godspeed

If I had to rely on support of other people to confirm what I already have concluded I wouldn't be posting these videos now would I? Unlike some here, I don't modify my belief system according to how the majority believes. I know there are ghosts and have seen the evidence. And I only post videos/photos here that I have examined and concluded to be authentic. If that bothers people oh frigg'n well.

You're interpreting not bowing down complacently to everyone here who thinks their doing real science as some sort of rudeness? If discounting their explanations is rude, then I guess I'm guilty as charged. But in no other sense do I come near to displaying the rudeness of mocking sarcasm and insults that comes my way for posting threads like this. Is it really that impossible to objectively consider the possibility of such things without turning into Lenny Bruce doing a schtick in some smokey nightclub? It's a common ploy of those who have no argument to demean and belittle. So maybe they have to do this. I have infinite patience though. So it phases me not. In any case, thank you for supporting my right to post here and defend my own beliefs, however unscientific they may seem to the majority here. My threads seem to attract a lot of posters and good passionate argumentation. I like to see that here in a forum that for the most part seems a mere ghosttown of absentee members/mods.

*facepalm*

You know what... I'm not even going to bother explaining what I meant...

Are you going to comment on my spider video?
I'm just waiting for the backlash from the popular press saying it's not as good as his last one, that he's lost his edge, sold out...
(Perhaps if he'd a guest appearance by Miley Cyrus they'd have been more forgiving).

I could tell it was a spider the moment I saw it. Nothing like the videos already posted here.

Seriously, you don't see a resemblance between yours and mine?

And, honestly, I knew yours was a spider as well from the moment I saw it. What now?

I blame the film crew..

Stryders right... rudness tends to begat rudness... an for Sciforums success... any who are rude shoud be moderated equally... ie... if a certan level of rudness is alowed... allow it for both sides.!!!

In any case... i hope you hang on to you'r patience an keep on postin interestin stuff :)

Well of course he wouldn't.
Yours was resolved, his wasn't.
Therefore he can "justify" (in his own mind) that "not resolved" = "ghost".

@MR
I think the above remarks are fair.

Science has standards of proof, and a discipline of experiment, which are far in excess of the evidence you are presenting.
You have a right to your beliefs, and to declare them, but you need to avoid claiming your beliefs are scientific.
In doing so, you are unnecessarily upsetting people.
They may have also unnecessarily upset yourself.

It doesn't mean that your opinions are not valid, or have no worth, or even that they are not true.
But by objective standards, they are not science.
