Feedback on forum software upgrade

This is basically a vB default bare-bones template. vBulletin assumes that anyone with php/sql ability will also be somewhat versed in css. If the board owner is so inclined, s/he can manipulate the css files and compose different board skins. Once this is accomplished, a variety of skin selections can be offered to users via a drop-down menu in the member control panel and/or at the bottom of the home page. It's a bit time consuming, but not technically difficult.

I don't like it... the graphics are blurry and the site is just generally hard to look at now.

After surfing for a bit, I have to say I hate it. I hate it for superficial reasons and not-so-superficial reasons. I hate the font, I hate the layout of the posts, hate that there are now signatures. The "ignored" posts now take up so much real estate it's impossible to actually ignore them.

Worst of all, this place now looks like every other forum on the net. There's no character.

Pretty much my sentiment... I really hate how the user avatars and names are on the side now. With no side margins it makes it kind of difficult to read posts, and honestly everything about the new layout is straining my eyes...

Well, the window when I am responding to a post and quoting a lot is not wide enough. I only see 5 or so lines and it is hard to edit the text, when you can't see it all. It should be at least twice as wide with 10 lines to be seen...

That's an easy fix.

If you look at the bottom left hand corner, there should be some dark diagonal lines.
Mouse over them, and your cursor will change into one of those vertical resizing arrows.

Click and drag to the desired size.

Update didn't affect the LaTex. It is working (there's sticky in Physics & Math forum on how it works).

$$\int \limits_a^b 4x^2~dx$$
$$\sum \limits_{n=1}^4 n = 10$$
I´m testing to to see if the math formual of post 80 survives in a "Reply with Qoute" quote. Underline and color did not survive in a simple "Quick reply" or "Reply." and of course any italics (as the title of a book )is lost as all becomes italics in the quotes.

images are dynamically resized to fit browser
no more mile long scroll bars accommodating hi-res pics

The ability to post cute kitty videos should supersede any other complaints. :)

Oh..and for changing my thread name!! Censorship!!! Censorship!!! :)

Hey, you can't put us off the subject with cute cats, McGuyver!
Although that is an incredibly cute kitten.
What happened to its ears though?

With all these changes.
Is the site name changing?
What would be a good new name?

btw, saw something funny today.
Try doing a google on "sciforums".
First is this site of course,
but see what comes up second.
Reiku's revenge.

why have "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" as the default action for images "from url"?

anyways......

good god is that how two attached images display by default?
i have to manually introduce a line break?

-----------------------------------------------

the thread count is a single line (good)
the page count is two lines (bad)

I take back my initial criticisms, I'm sort of used to it now, but I do still find we'd be better off with margins and the graphics still don't look very nice :\
