C&C 3 has been fun so far, I've played through the demo missions and done some skirmishes. Those NOD jihad militants are annoying though, computer keeps throwing a big blob of them at me and they just run in and start suicide bombing things.

The AI is really good at countering moves though. If you have no AA he'll send fighters, if you have lots of anti infantry defense he'll send tanks etc. One thing is clear though; Mammoth tanks are nigh unstoppable with the railgun upgrade. Once you get a couple squadrons of Firehawks and some Mammoth tanks it's just a matter of steamrolling over the enemy base.

The Ion Cannon is more powerful than ever and the one time the AI managed to launch a nuke it took out my entire base (which was admittedly pretty densly built), well everything but the construction yard.

Overall it's been much better than Generals and I'll probably pick up the full game before Supreme Commander. Only odd thing was seeing Grace Park and Tricia Helfer doing the cutscenes...

one of my favorite CCRA2 memories:

playing a multiplayer game with a full house......everyone builds as many attack dogs as they can.....

then we all used a teamspeak line to coordinate one big nuke attack by everyone on the massive field of puppies........."YELLLLP!" they would scream in unison....sometimes it would even crash the game.

:D good times.

Lol Devil I like setting up diff situation to see what happens.

Maybe the funniest thing I ever see in C & C was a set my brother-in-law up to play online, he was new to the game.

So I was building my base minding my own business and 20 harvesters turned up to kill me.

I'm not sure how the AI on C&C3 is, however the older C&C's use to react based upon the stance the Player would take against it. If you went mainly defensive, then the AI would go Offensive and vice versa. The simplest way to deal with the AI back then was to just keep doing small attacks to keep it from launching one of its own.

Games I've recently been playing on the XBOX 360...

Star Trek: Legacy
I wouldn't suggest going out and buying this game at it's premium cost, maybe look for it in trade-in stores or future bargain bins since in all essence it's really not one to write home about. You could probably complete the single player campaigns in one night if you put your mind to it and I can't really say much about the multiplayer since when I last looked there was only one guy available to game.

I guess it's a must for Star Trek fans, but something most will miss as they put their money towards something better.

Just Cause
This game kept me occupied for at least a few days and I've still not finished the final storyline mission. Some elements people concern themselves about the repetitiveness of like the taking of settlements. (You have to aid Guerillas and a rival cartel to rid settlements of the corrupt government that is fascists controlling them)
One thing they did put in this game is those collectables that you usually get in these free roaming games actually have dots on the map to make them easier to hunt down. No need to look for hint sheets or buy some expensive hint manual.

I could say more about flying around in various craft, using a parachute with a grappling line to sneak lifts in the form of being towed behind vehicles and otherwise being apart of the revolution however... I think it's enough said.

Splintercell: Double Agent
Another of Tom Clancy's titles and yet again you'll find yourself saving, reloading and sneaking pace by pace for hours (Unless you actually try the whole "All guns blazing" method of dealing with the objectives)

Slight differences to the original splintercells, this time the main character finds himself deep undercover and you're given objectives to achieve by both the NSA and the group you've infiltrated. Depending on which objectives you choose or achieve alters your standing with all groups involved.

Some interesting changes in the one player over the previous version, not sure how the multiplayer pans out, haven't tried it yet.

haha! i can see them slowly entering your base, all attacking a group of infantry as a group...

if that happened to me, i would figure out which of my inf he was targeting, and walk it back to HIS base. :)

I commend this site Okay it doesn't has that much for the moment but look what they did to bridge commander. Any game that has a large fan base with programmers is worth to buy

Mods are great for the PC community since they can make something of games that lack this or that, however on the XBOX 360 any extra's only become "downloadable content" after modders in the community have managed to get the approval of the company that created it to use their mods and even then those mods will cost people on XBOX live since the majority of modifications incur a charge in the form of MS Points, That is of course if and when anything becomes available.

I dunno, I'm still downloading it....

Apparently "This demo includes a tutorial, two different missions as the Global Defense Initiative, and a one-versus-one skirmish".

I can't believe how big games are getting these days.

I can't believe how big games are getting these days.

Once upon a time, Games were made by people that had to write the engines from the ground up. In doing so they had to try their best to make the most out of the available hardware and resources. In recent years graphics cards have become more powerful along with greater CPU power, the games engines are now pretty much punted out through editors that allow the engine to be tailored to more than one game type and the textures and screen resolution compatibility has increased further.

Expect with every iteration of larger screen sizes and better texturing to cause the games overall size to be larger. (let along the Gameplay, AI, Voice overs, motion captures etc.)

I remember when games would be released on 5 1/4" floppies, now we're starting to see them come on multiple DVD's. Supreme Commander is a whopping 6.1 GB...

I still remember my first version of castle wolvenstein on 2 disquetes

I even remember that toad game where you had to cross the street on a casette. Actually that was not that long ago (10 years ago on the 15 year old computer) it was a old computer in a summer resort for kids

now how much memory did that take a minute of tape :)

I just started playing the hell out of my Wii yesterday. Zelda, Excite Truck, Super Swing Golf, SSX, and Wario World: Smooth Moves.
