Yeah - I liked the RTW games - but then they started crashing my PC after about 5 minutes playing.

I like "Medieval: Total War 2" even more, though, although certain thing (Inquisitors etc) drive me mad when they single handedly wipe out my entire Royal family!!

Maybe I should patch the game.

Anyhoo - the battles are more frenetic than in Rome, with more unit types etc, but they do get a tad confusing due to vast variety of colours.
Rome kept everything relatively simple - all the army wore one colour and one flag.

Forgot about those inquisitors in mtw1 yeah they sucked. I wasted loads of money on dozens of assasins at the mere whiff of an inquisitor on my borders.

In MTW1 and 2, am i the only 1 that gets there elites slaughter vs peasants when assulting walls

in mtw2 i play on medium so the AI shouldn't be cheating to much

Rome Total War is like a rock and roll concert by your favorite band....

well worth the price, fun as hell, and filled with giant sweaty guys in stupid clothing!

I'm hoping to find out this weekend, providing vista doesn't have issues with it. What an O/S; anyone want to take a guess how long it took before it had issues with restarting? Still pretty cool though.
Whoever posted that mount and blade game gets top marks though - Love it!

there is a fun "tailing" mission in san fierro...fairly difficult.
you'll know the one i am talking about, as soon as you fail it about seventy times in a row.


i took a break from missions for awhile when i was playing, and did all the side missions (girlfriends, gang territories, etc).

I missed it. I finished yesterday with all missions. This game is quite worth its money. I put in lots of hours.
