He said there SEEMED to be spontaneity & it did SEEM so. No 1 here has claimed Sophia is selfaware or is AI.
I have seen several other videos of Sophia & many of other like robots, I have read about Hanson & others like him & I have never heard any of them claim their robots are anything but what they actually are.
More than that article is needed before calling it a hoax. Who is truly the credulous 1.

That #399 post I responded to, and you gave a 'like' to, again: "That was truly amazing...there seemed to be a spontenaity to her answers."
Not a hint of scepticism. So - do you agree with that linked article I gave? That 'Sophie' is a scam and a fraud and deceptive PR for a money-making venture about to sell en masse 'Einstein' and who knows what (or 'who' if you believe) thereafter?

The few YT vids I have watched where 'Sophie' is interviewed and gives human-like responses, not once does Hanson hint those sometimes emotional and/or in-depth knowledge responses, are other than genuine. And the interviewers likewise react in the same vein - 'Sophie' is 'amazing' and 'the real deal'.
Lilja Tamminen does imo a great job of exposing that idiocy/deceit and putting it all in proper context. And you call that 'Crackpot'? How so exactly?

It takes more than 1 crackpot article to say there is a hoax. Nothing was exposed & there is no proper context. Someone made some libelous claims without any support & you fell for it. Now you want us to fall for it.

An empty statement. To repeat - every online interview of Sophie I have seen portrays 'her' as sentient. Point me to one where Hanson plainly declares 'she' has no actual awareness or ability to converse on a human level.

If you had read my other posts, you would know that I never signed on to such speculation.

In fact, I have been arguing that what we call sentience is probably a result of bio-chemical (organic) processes and not from a purely inorganic electrical process.
