An algorithm is a set of instructions designed to perform a specific task. Of course the implication being that there is an intelligent designer...well no ...for all sorts of reasons and when you can understand the basics of evolution you will see why it is such a bad idea.

Maybe when you understand the basics of darwinism, you will finally understand that algorithms are a mental, not a natural process, and why it is an outdated idea.

What the Bible?

You just have to read the Bible knowing that the stories represent concepts...like the flood story is to show that mass extinctions occur and notwithstanding a severe reduction in a population of a species it can survive and evolve to meet a new world...you can say you don't believe my but it's in the bible.

The philosophy of science is very clear on what is required for one scientific model to replace another and clearly it is not based on personal philosophy...thank goodness you at least understand that...well done..I can see you are edging your way back to the road of truth which will lead you to enlightement...Om my gosh.

You just had to look at the so called whale evolution to work that one out. Plus the desperate attempt at the missing link, which enjoyed notoriety or 40 years.

Well thank goodness that Evolution has provided all the answers...you just can't ask for more than the wonderful understanding we now have thanks to the massive body of work in support of evolution.

I find it so exciting the way the scientists put together all the evidence to establish the evolution of the whale and the fact we got our backbone thanks to a fish ancestor. We are so fortunate to understand all these things and that science has led us out of the superstition that kept the truth about biology from us. And to understand how the eye evolved is just so interesting. Where would we be without science?

The only philosophy that is useful is the philosophy of science.

The rest if just waffle ...everyone knows that.

I wasted so much time studying philosophy only to find it is only science that equips one with the goods to do real stuff.

Just think of this.. take away philosophy tomorrow and the buses still run..take away science and you would have no buses.

Just think what a waste of time it is contemplating "if a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound if no one hears"... what a load of nonsense...Science will tell you why it fell, the energy involved, the chemical composition, ... everything there is to know about a tree...whereas philosophers dribble on about a question if answered contributes nothing to the world in any shape or form.

I was watching your mate James Craig? debate Matt from atheist experience and can see how he appeals..makes nice sounds such that folk must think he knows what he is talking about,...but really isn't he a dim wit...that Matt however very smart...well smart enough to escape the cult and brave enough not to worry about what others think ... it's great that there are people like him exposing the myths..mainly christianity...ryhms with insanity...Christ insanity...maybe that where the word came from.

With regards to consciousness it is a loop in the body system not present in the mobile phone

In ADDITION to being aware of external sensory inputs the body has a AWARENESS that it has a AWARENESS from said AWARENESS feed a loop back to itself

Is that so hard to understand?

So a person who is awake and alert and knows they are awake and alert to what is happening around them has a PROCESS of CONSCIOUSNESS happening in their brain

It is dependent on the amount of PROCESSING power the brain can devote to the incoming data coupled with UNDERSTANDING

Give a ant brain enough processing power and a ant brain will be able to UNDERSTAND the Universe and become CONSCIOUS and have CONSCIOUSNESS

So Evolution can never explain what is consciousness. is poor logic because evolution does not have any responsibilities let alone explanatory responsibilities

Perhaps The PROCESS of Evolution can never explain what is consciousness would a better statement (claim)

That is countered with - the process of evolution has given brain enough processing power such that CONSCIOUSNESS (alertness and understanding) can occur

I will grant you while evolution has given brain exceptional processing power, evolution has NOT coupled the ability to make exceptional use of said exceptional processing power (to THINK) :( so sad
