I'm not referring to DMOE in this particular case but look at those who have never had a good word to say about anyone (Iceaura and Tiassa) and yet they are the most easily offended.
Grok'd!You shouldn't go out of your way to pick fights.
To the one, I'm not. To the other, how can I tortuously work in polymer in a non-chemical sense? To wit, well, yanno. You shouldn't go out of your way to pick fights.
Ad-Hominem?
I really don't take this site too seriously, so I may reflect that.
To be completely honest, Tiassa, it seems that this Site has become quite the Puerile Pop-Science Forum in the last 6 or 7 years...I take him at his word—
—that he doesn't really have anything to say.
Yet, I'm still allowed to stay, why is that?I take him at his word—
—that he doesn't really have anything to say.
Thank you for your response.Yes, sideshowbob, "..." is a response.
It is a response that is given to signify that something was NOT IGNORED.
It means that a missive was carefully and fully read.
It has been completely understood.
After all due consideration, it has been determined that it does NOT merit any response, so the "..." simply means :
Read - Understood - Nothing worth responding to!
Thank you for your response.
When something is not worth responding, I don't respond. So you can consider yourself worthy.
As adults, I'd say online bullies are more plentiful, than when we were kids. Schools still deal with the terrible consequences of kids being bullied, whereas, in the adult world (offline), it's less accepted. Although, we could look at police brutality as a means of exercising bullying, as well as sexual harassment in the workplace. It takes different forms than it did when we were in Middle and High school. That said, I'd say that adults partake in online bullying pretty often, because it's easy. It's easy for someone to poke fun, or harass others online, especially as part of an anonymous forum. I suspect most of the ''online bad assery'' I've observed over the years, doesn't happen in real life for most online bullies.
I agree but I think we need to quit comparing real life and online so much. They are two different things. It's not that, as people, most people are that different in temperament or personality online or off but of course they are more direct online.
The people who are the most black and white and unappealing in their demeanor online are probably not like that to the same degree in the real life or they would have no friends or they would just get too much push back from the people they were talking to like that.
On the other hand, since there are some like that online, you pretty much "have" to deal with them on their own terms. Otherwise they are just left unchecked.
It's a weak argument, IMO, to talk about people as being cowardly "keyboard" warriors though. They may be jerks but beyond that it's best to just address what they have to say (and how they say it).
On a forum, over time, you can have many different interactions on many different subjects. Most people will let some "humanity" shine though from time to time.
Others never will. Some people are just not likable, online or otherwise. That's just something you have to deal with. It's why junior high is rougher than high school. People aren't mature at that point. There may only be a couple of school yard bullies but you have to deal with them. Otherwise they take over.
It's largely the same online. Most people are reasonable but there are a few who aren't. They aren't going to change but you can kept them in check somewhat.
I'm not on Reddit.Go on Reddit, and tell me if you feel the same
I'm not presenting an ''argument.'' Not everything is an ''argument.'' lol It's just an observation mixed with opinion.
Ah, gotcha. I have an account on Reddit but rarely post. It’s becoming a bit of a cess pool in some parts but it’s the formatting that is the worst. So many people love it though! LolI'm not on Reddit. An "argument" to me in another way of saying "point of view".
Seems like that sentiment might also be true on this Forum : If there were no unpopular Members on SciForums, how could all of the little bullies validate their miserable existence?... If there's no unpopular kid in the whole school, how can little bullies validate their miserable existence?
Have you ever asked yourself why? I'm sure there is plenty of evidence to establish why.Since I have never ever been popular in any sense of the word...and considering my standing on this seemingly puerile Pop-Science Forum...well...just possibly
all of the little bullies have to try to validate their miserable existence...so...
Come on DMOE you are well liked here, and at least for me I enjoy both you and Paddo haveing happy exchanges. It would not be the same without you..look at all the good quotes you put up...I always look forward to them...and this is a neat thread.existence?

Obviously. But if we dig deeper, you will find ... which strangely enough means that ... or if you prefer ...
