About the Members 31: Norsefire

It depends on the effects on humans and whether or not the positive gain outweighs the negative consequences
What if humans could survive (but obviously be worse off) but it will prove fatal to most other life ?

Think of it this way: if life is boring, then death is even more boring.

No I am not inferring that life is boring. What I mean is since there is a natural progression of things which make life interesting for example being a child (innocence), a teenager (new physical and emotional sensations), adulthood (taking responsibility), Old age (the passing away of worldly interest). All these are 'new' experiences in the stages of life. If we lived forever it would be a stage of stagnation and there lies the boredom, everything would be a repeat if you know what I mean of one stage in existence.

If we're going to be worse off what's the point?

The way I see it: if it's good for humans, that's what matters.

How can death be boring ? You aren't around anymore.

True but still....I'm not ready to die yet:)

What do you mean what's the point ? It happens, it's inevitable..
It's not like humans are destroying the natural world just for the hell of it.. although, I have some real doubts.

We do it for our own benefit, and I don't see anything wrong with that if that is what you're asking.

Also what would you do with about population growth if everyone survives? Or do you think there would only be a few thousand people, the same people, who would populate the earth forever?

Expand
Or
Have regulations

Do you still beat your wife?

haha, that's the oldest joke in the book, couldn't resist, sorry.

...

but seriously, do you?

But we cannot expand past 6 billion without being...well you know crowded. Wouldn't it get boring if there were only the same people everywhere?
Nah

I'm not married, and no:bugeye:

Enjoy the same things over and over ad infinitum?
There's plenty to do.
