ISIS Burns 45 Iraqi Captives to Death in Al Baghdadi

The arsehole groups that are terrorists, go out to promote their evil, their murders and executions. They are out to shock people and the world into submission.
But it wont work that way.
The further these sub humans carry on with their less then animal antics, the more the world, muslim and western will be united, and the sooner will be their justifiable fate.
I'm not interested in what happened a 1000 years ago, or 60 years ago, the ISIL's group acts of terrorism, will not change or rectify any perceived wrong.
I don't care how they are stopped, but stopped in time they will be.

They probably should show dead terrorist video/pics. Might discourage some of the locals from joining up.

A Somali-American from Minneapolis has been killed while fighting alongside terrorists in the besieged Syrian town of Kobane, according to a report tweeted Sunday by an FBI fugitive who is also affiliated with terror groups.

Ive read that ISIL thanks ther playin a part in the end times written about in ther holey book... so they see ther actions as workin fine-- to brang about destruction/"end times".!!!

Lots more people (on both sides) will dye befor the tide turns (ISIL/fundamentalist type power is reduced)... an ther dont seem much way to avoid it.!!!

I'm not saying that it didn't happen but that I only see innocent people being led to slaughter for the most part. I also see homes being blown up, empty vehicles that are burning but few terrorists that have been killed. My question is that if all that the news is showing, for the most part, why can't it show at least some footage of what the allies have done to terrorists besides blowing up empty buildings. We are told certain key people in the ISIS organization have been killed but we never see the dead bodies, not that I really care, but I think people should see what the allies are doing besides only hearing about it.

This reminds me of when we started the war with Iraq when we were told Saddam had weapons of mass destruction for many months and shown pictures of what were supposed to be factories producing those types of things. But when we finally got into Iraq there were no weapons of mass destruction ever found and the factories were not making those weapons either. All lies to get a war started. Now here we are again but now with the news purporting to show terrorists killing innocent people. Could this just be a orchestrated plan to get the military back involved in this new "war on terrorism" or is it contrived.

I agree with you about more video on national news about showing dead terrorists to dissuade others from joining. It seems the news wants to show innocent people being killed by terrorists so that people want to join the terrorists because the spin by the news is that ISIS is somehow winning the war. It would seem to me that the media only wants to show things that make people angry and upset so that another war can be started when if there is another war and ISIS is defeated another terrorist organization will come into power. We can't win a war that never ends and to spend billions of dollars and thousands of American troops lives over and over with no positive outcome it seems preposterous to get involved. Helping with air support and tactical operations would be the best thing.

I had to read the Atlantic article a couple of times to get a grip of what was being said. Yes there are psychopaths attracted to ISIS for the brutality. But as the article points out several times:

While we dont have to take the approach that this is about religion, they [ISIS] does.

Yes, another terrorist org will take its place. As long as islam exists someone, somewhere will be attracted to the brutal aspects under the guise of purity. Just like some fundy xians decide to blow up abortion clinics /shoot doctors in the name of jesus/god. But we (in the USA) tend not to ignore/justify those actions under freedom of religion. Most of those who vehemently oppose abortion would find the killer of a doctor guilty of murder. It is harder to say that about muslims in the middle east or in other notable muslim populations in Europe, USA, Asia, etc.

We cant win the war but can we afford to lose it? The goals of ISIS are broad and no less than that of Hitler. Actually it seems the goals of ISIS are further reaching than Hitlers.
 
I agree with Cosmic Traveler in that there are many factors about this issue that are incredibly missing from the public domain/record.
 
After listening to the Australian Prime Minister, Tony Abbott deliver an approx. 30 minute security assessment and proposed legislative changes today it seems that the use of the word "terrorist or "terrorism" is actually incorrectly being applied in the case of IS.

According to most commonly held definitions including that used by the FBI (USA) to be labeled as a terrorist a group of persons must as a primary requirement be involved in the attempt to bring down of a government by attacking it's employees and/or it's citizens.

Whilst some aspects of the IS campaign are suggestive of terrorism I believe using the term is unnecessarily confusing the response the governments of the world need to deliver.

As much as I am unhappy with Tony Abbott's political behavior, his use of the words "Death Cult" are more appropriate IMO and would significantly change the approach taken if the distinction between terrorism and Death Cult is fully understood and acknowledged.

Are they an "End times Death Cult" masquerading as a terrorist organization with strong pseudo religious motivation or simply terrorists?
I believe the answer to this question may make a big difference to the way the world deals with this issue IMO.

Depending on how you use the word terrorism I guess it can be.
However a terrorist organization is usually pursuing an agenda for something in the future.
A death cult is not interested in a long term future.
IS demonstrates no long term agenda, in fact it will probably implode when their secret "end time" date expires and nothing happens...( as is the case with most End times cults)

Their attitude to their captives reminds me of the taunt "You are already dead but you don't know it yet" so of course they see life, including their own, to be very temporary and essentially of no value at the moment. (Which of course seriously contradicts the supposed value of Allah's (Gods) creation. aka life, mankind etc)

In a way the IS phenomena is a symptom of "End times" paranoia sweeping the globe at the moment due to extraordinary climate change - Ebola - and so on... IMO
Examples:
1) The severe record breaking weather news coming out of the Northern, Eastern USA is only adding to the paranoia.
2) Not one but two massive cyclones hitting Australia's North simultaneously. (Lam and Marcia)

Therefore the real issue facing the world is "End times" paranoia and all the associated outcomes of that fear.. IMO
( ...and one of the most significant symptoms of paranoia is "denial" which reminds me of our PM Tony Abbott's recent public statement that coal (mining and use) is good for the future and his extraordinary reaction to the Ebola crisis)

ISIS has declared a caliphate. Bagdahdi (spelling?) as the head.

Somewhere I read he [bagdahdi] would be the 8th of the 11 forecast before the end times (may have been the Atlantic article).

So yes has its political aspect entwined with religion.
 
I can't help but think the world needs a team of "psychiatrists" running the response instead of military generals. (glib post) especially those who are specialist with regards to paranoia.
Treated as a serious mental health issue of global proportions...

The cure for the ISIS mentality will need to come from within islamic nations themselves. Quite a thing to expect from within the muslim community; as I understand it, its seldom muslims will condemn each others actions when Allah is evoked. And I do not know how a fatwa can be issued, these pigs in muslim clothing have various verses of the qu'ran to justify their actions.
 
One of the things worth considering IMO is that it may not be so much the ISIL perspective on end times that is so important but the End times perspective of those Muslims witnessing events in the M.E.

If we assume for a moment that the vast majority of Muslims in the M.E. Africa generally and Asia are strongly superstitious due to low education of males and virtually none for women (eduction for women is in some cases strongly discouraged), seriously impoverished in many ways (financial, emotional, intellectual etc)... their view of events unfolding in the M.E would be steeped with all sorts of religious significance especially End Times scenarios.

I guess what I am suggesting is that the IS phenomena would be considered strongly by those Muslims in eschatological terms and context, meaning that an appropriate reaction, as warranted from a more educated Western perspective, is unavailable due to serious fears associated.
Combining with other world events such as significant climate change extremes and so on can only lead to further consolidation of End Times thinking and beliefs.
