Car: Honda City 2022
Sport Rim: 16 inches, 6Jx15 ET53
Original Tyre: 185/55/R16
Change option:
1) 195/50/R16
2) 205/50/R16

Currently using option (1),
do you think option (2) is better?

Do you know what the numbers mean? Have you done the 30 second google search that it would take to learn?

My sport rim is 16", Rim's code is 6J ET53 4/100 ,
had been using 195/50/R16.
I know that people upgrading to 205/50/R16

Okay, Saint. If that's how you want it, I'll ignore your posts, too. Except if moderation is appropriate, of course.

We need to understand Tyre's size and Sport Rim's spec to choose the best tyre for your car, car manufacturer wanna save cost, they may not give you the best tyre when you bought the car.

Why not ask the Chinese, rather than these Westerners you despise so much?:D

People who obsess over rims are people who are into aesthetics over performance.

Usually racing tires are designed to give you more traction (the question obtains---in what weather?)
which usually means worse fuel economy

Click on the link and then click on the Tyre comparison tab. Enter the original tyre then enter the new tyre and click "Compare", you will see the speedo errors between 20 and 90 miles per hour. Do this for the second tyre as well and you will see that 195/50 has an actual range of 19.8 to 88.9 mph while 205/50 has an actual range of 20.1 to 90.4 mph.

Calculation is one thing,
Sport Rim spec is critical, my sport rim can fit maximum 205mm width tyre.
205/50/R16 is my maximum size.
Less RPM to achieve same speed.
Wider for better stability.

For normal passenger car of 1500cc, 16inch sport rim, what tyre brand do you recommend?
Continental, Goodyear, Michelin, Bridgestone, or cheap brand tyre?

Don't forget second hand tires. I have a 1400cc 4 door hatch with 205/45 R17's and I bought a complete matched set for under the price of 1 new tire.

Just reject anything that looks brand new but has cracks where the sidewall joins the tread as it's probably old stock.
