Confessions Of An Economic Hitman

Did not view the link but have heard the author several times. He has an important story to tell. Even with former insiders in the system speaking out people who don't want to understand the system can't be informed.

Is good book!

John Perkins.

Liked the followup too, it's around here in the Sea Of Clutter somewhere...

Isn't this the truth. Vested interests won't be moved from their world view that they have always been taught is the truth.

Romans 13:1-7

New International Version (NIV)

Romans 13
Submission to Governing Authorities
1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

Having read the book...in a nutshell...

It's about the sort of manipulations that go on behind the scenes that let multinational corporations economically colonize poor countries.

If you have not heard about this sort of thing, an eye-opener. Mainly what I was interested to note is that when a country's leader refuses to be bought off...the person who is hired to do the killing is always an external contractor, not a CIA operative.

Here's the author's website:

And from this page, an excerpt from the book blurb:

.”Confessions of an Economic Hit Man reveals a game that, according to John Perkins, is “as old as Empire” but has taken on new and terrifying dimensions in an era of globalization. And Perkins should know. For many years he worked for an international consulting firm where his main job was to convince LDCs (less developed countries) around the world to accept multibillion-dollar loans for infrastructure projects and to see to it that most of this money ended up at Halliburton, Bechtel, Brown and Root, and other United States engineering and construction companies.

Its the system and it works... oh wait no it doesn't. Few prosper and oppress the rest.

How much are you willing to bet that Libya will be the next recipient of this financial black helping hand? IMF and World Bank vampires are already gathering.
