Because the word itself means that there are too many people per unit of area.
That would bring a whole spectrum of problems for humans, not to mention for nature.
Also, inherent to the problem of overpopulation is that most recourses will become scarce.
If nothing is done against overpopulation the problem will solve itself naturally and that will not be a pretty sight.

So why do you not fear it?

I don't fear overpopulation because I have driven through Nebraska. My husband has the fear that we will drive into a ditch and we won't be found for weeks.

I see smaller and smaller families in my area. Educated people with no jobs tend not to have more children. Where they used to have three, they now have 2.

I have seen Europeans weep trying to drive the wide open spaces of North America. They simply cannot believe it.

agreed, they can't. I knew someone who drove a foreign exchange student from Omaha to our town (a 6 hr drive). They kept asking if there had been a disaster because there were so few houses and people

well, I have to say, GW Bush's presidency has done its fair share in reducing teh population, both here at home and abroad. I guess wars are good for keeping the populations reduced.

except that wars are quite selective in who they reduce...men account for more than 95% of deaths in wars.

men are born to fight, to protect interests of their families. Women are born to love and care. Its a perfect balance between a man and a woman. We just need more love in this world, more interaction between men and women.

  19. I don't because I believe that when it will become nessesary, familes will be conservative within themselves.

I don't "fear" overpopulation but I do think that the number of people on this planet is the reason why we're all fracking fracked. There are 1 million more people added to earth every few days. That's simply way too many people IMO.

And when will it become necessary? In my opinion we already passed that point.

    I believe it..
But it doesn't change the fact that the worlds population is still doubling every 50 years or so.

My dutch friend was gobsmacked when visiting when I used to live in the Australian Outback. He came in by night and so in the morning when we went to a mountain he was in awe of the amount of open land.
