Alaska is the 49th state of the USA, the largest in the Union. Alaska is way bigger than Texas. Alaska is a mysterious land of mystery, populated by swarthy lumberjacks and rugged individualists. The state flag is flannel. Grizzly bear maulings are common, and all children are trained from the age of 7 to run down wolves, throw harpoons, and hunt musk ox with their bare hands. It is a land where the weak perish. Given this fact scientists are flabbergasted that there still is a population of Americans in Alaska

  • Russia sold Alaska to the USA for 7.2 million $ on March 30, 1867. The USA subsequently made several attempts to return it, all unsuccessful - even though, on the last occasion, they offered to waive any fees.
