Pseudoscience is a set of ideas or beliefs that is claimed to be scientific by their proponents, but are not regarded as such by the scientific community because they do not follow the scientific method, are not publish in peer-reviewed journals, or have been adequately disproven.

The Oxford English Dictionary defines "pseudoscience" as:

A pretended or spurious science; a collection of related beliefs about the world mistakenly regarded as being based on scientific method or as having the status that scientific truths now have.
