I am a modified Christian - my beliefs are simple yet complicated - simple in that they can, at their essence, be boiled down to one thing - don't be an asshole. Complicated in what makes it come to that.

Why would you want to bash them?

If you were a Christian (a follower of Christ) you wouldn't bash folks who don't match up to what you perceive your standard to be. You wouldn't search the internet for (new) atheist nonsense masquerading as Christians, trying their level best to make the Christian religion look idiotic.

not quite true, I know several Christian that will bash on ppl because they don't believe the same, it a human nature thing.

and we don't need atheist to make us look like idiots, the news is filled with Christian groups that are protesting stuff like rock concerts and such, they do fine making themselves look like idiots.

That's more understandable. It seems that he has just scoured the internet looking for something ridiculous. At least get something that is actually ridiculous, and more importantly from the camp he is mocking. On top of all that, it shouldn't be in the religion section.

Why, as a so called Christian, would you be interested in mocking your own religion? Isn't there something far more interesting, and topical. Leave the new atheists to their bashing, they need that. Why add to it?

'test all things and hold on to what is good' includes the church.
I have tested (a couple were even intentional(remember, adhd here)) various churches and they all fall short of what God teaches.
(much less what the pastor teaches)

and I could reciprocate and ask you: Do you think religion is perfect?

 

You misunderstand - I don't bash people for their beliefs. I bash them for not objectively viewing them. A lack of intelligence and critical thinking skills is something to be bemoaned and, if at all possible, corrected.
