Okay, I admit it. I love this lady. She's frakking entertaining and her music makes me blast my car stereo probably to its breaking point. I keep wondering when the crap will start to flow (this is assuming that you don't already think her music is crap), and every new song seems to be better than the last. What's more, she actually writes her own shit! Newest song, Bad Romance, reminds me of some of the trance that I used to enjoy in the early 00's. ~String
I don't like her music. It's not my style. But she is talented as hell. I watched her on SNL and the second performance completely changed my mind on her. Piano acoustic renditions with crazy jazz vocals? So, I read a bit about her. She's quite intelligent, and knows exactly what she's doing. But what's more, is she writes a performance -- the choreography, costumes and music -- all together. Very unique approach. I don't like the music, but I respect her abilities.
I don't care about "the person". I won't ever know her. I care about the performer. Word around the scuttlebutt is that Michael Jackson was an insane douchebag. But his music was still creative and attracted throngs of shrieking fans. ~String
Hm, I prefer to listen to MGMT, Hot chip, Metronomy, Kleerup, La Roux etc. Basically, I'm not too fond of her musical creations in the Electropop scene.
but you can't see that on the radio. I love her. Different is refreshing. She is like Madonna for my daughter's generation
i haven't heard a lot of her music, but from what i have seen and heard, i like her a lot. i'm not big into conformity at all, so anyone who pushes the envelope in regards to aesthetic and social norms and manners is ok by me.
This is true on both counts but I did not really like Madonna either but that is just me. I love Judas Preist and bands of that type, As well as OLD OLD country
I think she's cool, like the whole "thing". I think I've heard four-five songs, of which I liked two, Pokerface and Paparazzi.
I really like Lady Gaga's music. Her music videos and since of style are very...uh...strange, but that doesn't take away from her music. I've liked all of the songs I've heard from her so far.
In the first place, it seems that much of her appeal centers more on her videos, outfits and dance moves than the music per se. I'm not a hater or anything - and the videos are pretty damned good - but I do think that some of her material is a bit thin. Especially recently: the baby-talk bridge portion of Bad Romance is retarded in a really irritating, bad way. The production is typically quite solid, though. All of which adds up to Lady GaGa filling the position that was opened up by Madonna aging to the point where nobody wants to look at her.
