Here a easy way... put 1 cup steel cut oats in a 4 quart (plastic) measure cup... add 6 cups water... cook in microwave on full power for 10 minutes... then cook on power 4 for 25 minutes... then add 2 cups water an stir... then cover an let stand overnite in frige... then stir an poor out single servins to reheat in microwave for breakfast.!!!

Makes 6 servins (lasts 3 days for me).!!!

I dont add anythang to 'em (such as milk suar or salt) when i eat 'em for brakfast... i like ther oaty/nuty taste... an they kinda "pop" when bit down on.!!!

I put roasted oats an peanut butter [an rasins] in a food processer an after its mushed up i shape it on a plate an cut into squares an freeze it for snacks.!!!

Once again. . . you beat me to it.

Yeah. In fact, I favor glass for everything. I even pack my little side dishes in small glass containers with silicone lids. I detest the thought of petrol residue being in my food. The risk is significantly increased when you microwave them.

Why are steel cut oats better than whole organic rolled oats? I love the rolled out variety and eat them frequently. What gives?

I like the Scottish version, I think that's also steel cut. It's not as chunky.

I changed the oats to 1 1/8 cups cups cause 1 level cup is a bit to thin.!!!
