That song kills me, lol. I'm not big on happy songs, but i am in love with Fred Astaire - Cheek to Cheek http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=185qYmzRluk Heaven, Im in heaven And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak And I seem to find the happiness I seek When were out together dancing cheek to cheek Heaven, Im in heaven And the cares that hung around me through the week Seem to vanish like a gamblers lucky streak When were out together dancing (swinging) cheek to cheek Oh I love to climb a mountain And reach the highest peak But it doesnt thrill (boot) me half as much As dancing cheek to cheek Oh I love to go out fishing In a river or a creek But I dont enjoy it half as much As dancing cheek to cheek (come on and) dance with me I want my arm(s) about you That (those) charm(s) about you Will carry me through... (right up) to heaven, Im in heaven And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak And I seem to find the happiness I seek When were out together dancing, out together dancing (swinging) Out together dancing cheek to cheek

And right before I put my head on the pillow, say a prayer one love to the thugs in heaven I'll see you there It's written for the young and dumb that wasn't warned Help you make it through the storm My words to my first born, feel me .. My words to my first born .. My words to my first born Since my very first day on this earth, I was cursed So I knew, that the birth of a child would make my life worse And though it hurt me there was no distortion Cause wild seeds can't grow, we need more abortions Quiet your soul, cause you know what you had to do And so did victims of a world they never came to I understand it's a better day comin Sometimes cats be sleepin on the dead end drivin with the car runnin blinded Ain't no love in the hood only hearts torn Love letters to the innocent and unborn All the babies that died up on the table Wasn't able to breathe, cause the family wasn't able Can't - blame her I would do the same All I could give it was my debt and my last name Cause in the game things change livin up and down This hard life got me walkin with my head down Flashin frowns wasn't meant to be, was I wrong? But I'll never get to know, so I carry on It's written for the young and dumb that wasn't born My words to my first born, feel me .. My words to my first born .. Mmm! (Yeah) These are the words to my first born .. Hey nigga talk to your born, talk to your seed nigga Two thousand somethin somethin it's a new era A nigga's too real, now see shit too clear See there's more than just this scrilla and this tilt (What else is it dawg?) The velvet and the silk, and makin sure my kittens got they milk (Hoo!) Gotta fill this mattress, let my kids know I'm at this Attack this, the Mack must roll, hood stroll Ain't no question is it? Above the Law hustlers If it's related to chips, homey we'll handle ya Yo.. Although we never take advantage though we always into ery'thang By all means, stack green, gangsta lean They say money make the world go 'round So only 'ssociate yourself with paper chasers and niggaz that's truly down - and keep God first And give thanks for the good times, as well as when it hurts It's player haters every corner you hit Touchin their tits, hella thick, tryin to get you for yo' grip I know you stressed out and fed up But come out, gun-blazin, and keep yo' head up You can call it what you want to but it ain't gon' change Above the Law, 2Pac, O.G.'s in this rap game And we done lived a long hard life And we done shed so many tears under these bright lights Y'all, although we grew up, corrupted and scorned We still got a lot of wisdom, to give to our first born What you gon' tell your kids nigga? Happy Songs?...my personal favorite is "Shit List" by L7 from the "Natural Born Killers" soundtrack: When I get mad, When I get pissed, I grab a pen, and I write out a list, of all the people that won't be missed, You made my shit-list. For all the ones who put me out, For all the ones who filled my head with doubt, for all the ones who got me pissed. You made my shit-list. Shit-list...(repeat as necessary) Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Haji was a punk Just like any other boy And he never had no trouble 'Til he started up his oi band Safe in the garage Or singing in the tub Till Haji went too far And he plugged in at the pub 'Twas a cold Christmas Eve When Trevor and the skins Popped in for a pint And to nick a back of crisps Trevor liked the music But not the unity He unwound Haji's turban And he knocked him to his knees If god came down on Christmas Day I know exactly what he'd say He'd say "Oi to the punks and Oi to the skins But Oi to the world and everybody wins!" Haji was a bloody mess He ran out thru the crowd He said "We'll meet again, We are bloody, not unbowed" Trevor called his bluff And told him where to meet Christmas day on the roof Down at 20 Oxford street If god came down on Christmas Day I know exactly what he'd say He'd say "Oi to the punks and Oi to the skins But Oi to the world and everybody wins!" On the roof with the nun chucks Trevor broke a lot of bones But Haji had a sword like that guy in Indiana Jones Police sirens wailing, A bloody dying man Haji was alone And abandoned by his band Trevor was there fading And still so full of hate When the skins left him there And went down the fire escape (Oi! Oi!) But then Haji saw the north star shining more then ever So he made a tourniquet from his turban saving Trevor Then repelled down the roof With the rest of the turban And went back to the pub Where they bought each other bourbon If god came down on Christmas Day I know exactly what he'd say He'd say "Oi to the punks and Oi to the skins But Oi to the world and everybody wins!" If god came down on Christmas Day I know exactly what he'd say He'd say "Oi to the punks and Oi to the skins But Oi to the world and everybody wins!" Anathema to me. That is, before I discovered the Go! Team: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_LoSqyNmeo God, I heart The Go! Team.
I don't get off on reading lyrics to songs other people like because the impact of the song is the combination of the poetry and the music. That said, one of my favorite songs is "Dragostea din Tei" by the O-Zone. I have no idea what it means (they're from Moldova and the song is in Romanian) or even if the lyrics truly are happy. But it sounds delightful. As for a song in English: "Uncle John's Band" by the Grateful Dead. But it's hell to play, there are quite a few measures in 7/8 time scattered throughout. One in Spanish, "Ciega, Sordomuda." The song that made Shakira popular in Mexico, the steppingstone to the U.S. market.
SHINESS IS NIIIIICE BUT SHINESS CAN STOP YOU FROM DOING ALL THE THINGS IN LIFE YOU'D LIKE TOOOOOO SO IF THERE'S SOMETHING YOU'D LIKE TO TRYYYY SO IF THERE'S SOMETHING YOU'D LIKE TO TRYYYY ASK ME I WONT SAY NO HOW COULD IIIIII this song is so kinky

What? I remember it all like it was yesterday: Morrissey on Top of the Pops, gladioli in his back pocket, pretending to machine-gun all the jocks and jockesses (to use the handy American terminology) in the audience. The music world was pretty boring at the time and then, suddenly, it was all so wonderfully Us and Them.
makes me wonder a lot of things, like does it take being in torment to write good music? where has all the good music go, why do the sad people turn to the dark side and do emo? why do I relate so much to his music if I am nothing like that?
Walkin on Sunshine, Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah, and my favorite... Happiest Girl in the Whole USA Good morn-in' morning, hello sunshine Wake up sleep-y head Why'd we move that bo-jan-gle clock So far a-way from the bed Just one more minute That's why we moved it One more hug or two Do you love wakin' up next to me As much as I love wakin' up next to you You make the coffee, I'll make the bed I'll fix your lunch and you fix mine Now tell me the truth Do those old shoes look funny, honey It's almost time Now you be careful, gotta go I love you, have a beautiful day And kiss the happiest girl In the whole U.S.A. Chorus: Skip-a-dee - doo-dah Thank you, Lord, for making him for me And thank you for letting life turn out The way that I always thought it could be There once was a time When I could not imagine How it would feel, to say I'm the happiest girl In the whole U.S.A.
[Verse 1: Maino] Yo, I'm from where, you might not make it to see 25 Get the wrong judge? You might see 25 It hurts here - hard to sleep through nights Need a gun & a good set of eyes just to get through life (damn) From where dudes stand around the corners & pump rocks To make it off the street, all depends on your jumpshot (word) The drugs, the fiends, the pimps, the hoes & what you call the slums, I call home (I'm home) The funerals, the tears, little girls with kids The murals of the friends that we lost through the years (we miss you) Kids can't learn 'cause school is overcrowded But they got cells for 'em though they say it's overcrowded (it's crazy) I can't lie, take a look around, it's hell here (it's hell here) But somethin' keeps me grounded 'cause Lord I'm still here (I'm here) The love I feel is hard to explain I could live anywhere but nothing's the same as [Chorus: Maino (little kids)] (My hood) everything ain't peaches & cream in (my hood) My Hood Lyrics on http://www.lyricsmania.com Even though it ain't much it's (my hood) Take a look what you seen in (my hood) 'Cause I ain't gon' ever give up on (my hood) Maybe I'm just too stuck in (my hood) 'Cause I ain't gon' turn my back on (my hood) Come through, I get love from (my hood) 'Cause I'm gon' always come back to (my hood) [Verse 2: Maino] Where I seen my man die in front of me (Curtis!) Seen my pops get high right in front of me Cops said somebody said I had a gun on me I guess that's why they keep me while I had the cuffs on me Around here ain't no hope for each other 'Cause up the block somebody sold dope to my mother Please tell me how we 'posed to recover When them gunshots touch more people than them songs from Usher (yeah) And it don't help seein' all my men get burried We should've RIOT when them pigs killed Timothy Stansbury Everybody's on parole or probation Or on the run or just caught court cases Hustlers & con artists & narc faces On the same strip chickenheads is car chasin' (what up?) Deep down, know it's a better place to be But still, I can't seem to get myself to leave [Chorus: Maino (little kids)] [Verse 3: Maino] You might just speak with a different slang But 'round the world every hood is the same (the same) The dice games, the projects, the cars, & the corner stores The barber shops, weed spots, & the liquor stores (yeah) Niggas bring them bikes out in the summer time (haha!) The hood is a bitch but dawg, she's fun at times (uh huh) Everybody plays ball or they tryna rhyme My homie just came home for the hundredth time At night time mami, get yo' kid (whoa) 'Cause when them shells start flyin', don't let 'em hit yo' kid Petty thieves & stick-up kids, drug businesses Sluts suck any dick they get (oh) Young girls with men names tattooed on 'em With all this AIDS & shit, can't go raw in 'em Look dawg, my son is my life, when I'm done with my life The only place that I'd rather die is [Chorus: Maino (little kids)]
