Its sad to say although some episode are still good, the best times of the X-Files where in its early days. Im not sure exactly where they went wrong but I know the best was back when Cancer man was still around. Just something about he just made the whole series so interesting. IIt seemed after he was gone it just went down hill.

I cant bear to think of the X-Files without Moulder either.....
 
I agree X-files was way better in its early days. My favorite episode was in fact the first episode, but lately no i dont like the latest episodes. The last episode i watched had doggets first appearance in it then they started with the whole scullys baby thing, then i said "Great, another good show ruined by bad plot gimicks."
 
The X files was a wonderful show when the Cancer Man was around...But since then the show has hit rock bottom. It got even worse when Mulder left...

One of my favorite episodes was "the blessing way"
