Chris Langan is the world's smartest man

He was bullied for being smart. He was taught that being smart was something to be ashamed of, and got beat up by his father and school bullies for being "smart".

He seems to believe headsize influences intelligence and that men are smarter because they have larger heads/brains.

He called academia a heartless and cold buracracy.

He think's the world is too violent. He discusses power, and the flaws of society.

Would start a manhatten project for birth control, to have people apply to have children, or would use genetic engineering.

Freedom is a privilege and not a right.

Says we need a philosophical ethical structure which would be advanced ethics. To be taught in schools. Wants to find alternative sources of leadership.

He seems to be right about most of what he is saying. "greater ability = more responsibility".

Best idea is for a church for "intellectual elites". He say he does not judge intelligence by an IQ test, but by a persons mind production.

Oh come on. IQ is almost meaningless...

I'm not denying that he's smart. But man, who worries about IQ anymore?
 
Wait, this guy is supposed to be the smartest man in the world, claims "greater ability = more responsibility" says he is closer to the truth than any other man in the world and wastes his genius working as a bouncer!!?
 
I watched the first few minutes and he's absolutely full of himself..

'closer to truth than any other man' :rolleyes: alright, buddy.

Some of the things he's says I am bound to agree with, but that doesn't make it truth.

Implant ten year olds with birth control devices? :bugeye: Apply to have children?

Benign eugenics? Talk about doublespeak. He gives too much of a shit for his own good.

Could be that I am just too dumb, and these ideas really are brilliant, but they seem fucked-up beyond even Nazi levels. The solution to cold heartless bureaucracy isn't more, if that's what he's protesting.. Going the anarchist route would make more sense.

Putting this man 'in charge' would be like giving a gun to a chimpanzee.

Having to apply and prove you can support your offspring is a excellent utopian idea. It would eliminate the proliferation of abusive or irresponsible humans but the problem is when a society cannot be perfectly just, fair, and ensure perfect opportunity(imperfect) it will deteriorate with horrible prejudice. The consequences would be disastrous. The self-seeking competition to propagate one's own genes would get ugly and society would degenerate rather than progress.
 
I can't distinguish his thoughts from those of the common egotistical pothead.

I wonder why people with high IQs perform better at their jobs. I wonder why the more complex the job is, the more IQ matters.

I wonder why high IQ people have better jobs and make more money than people with low IQs, regardless of education.

I wonder why IQ is the best predictor of job performance.

I doubt it has anything to do with intelligence. It seems very unlikely to me. I'm pretty sure IQ is meaningless.

Close to the truth is wrong! lol. Not that I even understand what he means by "closer to the truth". Im thinking he means that he has more knowledge then any other man or he has a deeper love of the truth then any other man. He is not the smartest man in the world if he thinks he knows how close every other man in the world is to the truth. Not that I think im closer, its just that the truth that every man knows is different then what any other man knows so I do not think there would be a such think as closer to the truth, he could be closer to knowing everything then any other man, I would like to know exactly what he meant by "closer to the truth then any other man".

I have a high IQ as well. It's nowhere near 210 but it's high. I agree with some of what this guy says should happen but I think it should go further. I don't think anyone with an IQ below 100 should be allowed to reproduce or get a drivers license. If some of these ideas were adopted most of the world's problems would disappear in about two generations. Before you laugh consider that modern bio-technonogy is gearing up to move in exactly that direction. No self-respecting genetic scientist is going to waste time cloning stupid people. Eugenics was the best idea but it was never properly implemented. Now as the future approaches at high speed Eugenics will be a mandatory policy guiding genetic reasearch.
