Why Smart People Suicide

Yes this is the madness of the Western world (ie, Christianity/Judaism/Secularism). Trying to out-think nature and compete with it. People get lost in materialism and cannot see a way out, everything measured, analysed, quantified and rationalised.

A stupid man considers that starting a fire will burn the house down, an intelligent man considers how the fire will spread to other areas, a more intelligent man considers the house structure, prevailing winds etc.. an even more intelligent man considers satellite images, weather forecasts, content of properties nearby, etc....etc.....ad infinitum.

But then a wise man doesn't spend any time considering arson.

People kill themselves because they are lost in self-worship. Cause and effect is the presumptious thinking of western elites.

The invisible and unknowable will always be infinite magnitudes greater than our knowledge.

Jon Nödtveidt is dead and the response to his suicide diagnoses why he did it. As an acquaintance of mine said, "I'm of higher than average intelligence -- two standard deviations. This society is not designed for people of higher intelligence. We see things the others don't, such as how inefficient or self-destructive the way this society works is. And since they don't see it, they crowd out our opinions and leave us with no voice. It's a lonely side of life."
That or lots of delusions from drugs.

A truly "smart" person doesn't commit suicide, cause he/she is truly smart to know and handle him/herself, a smart person is mature or in the process of growing up.
One cool topic of discussion would be "Why do 'apparently smart' persons get caugth in anxiety disorders?".
In my opinion its much a question of maturity and self-confidence, which for some strange reason some "intellectual persons" seem to be lacking.

I'd guess that things have never been as good for smart people as they are now - they can find other people who share their interests over the Internet, possibly with levels of expertise near to their own. And the arts and sciences are blooming at such a rate that there's plenty of room for smart people at the cutting edges...

This is exactly what the rest don't understand: it's not personal but a question of the future of the whole.

My god, I couldn't have asked for a better example.

What if the world around them is doomed, and to survive is to be complicit?
