What you need to know before watching "Primer"

I just watched this film and was fully blown away. The film only cost $7,000.00, and yet is one of the most complicated and profound sci-fi films of all time. Yes, M.R., "Primer" was and still is a "Rare Gem" of that...Genre(shall we say?), I have viewed it probably a half-a-dozen times or more with friends at "Primer Parties" - where we actually "Pause Playback" for discussions and dissect the movie in fine detail.

Two other movies, in a similar vein, that you may also possibly enjoy - at least I did, and still do enjoy - and that I heartily recommend, are :

Nowhere along the lines of that "genre" of movie, and at the risk of being somewhat "off topic"...
One of, if not, the best movie, from my perspective, that has been Released, in the last 10 or 15 years, is an Australian Film that flew well under the radar of most movie goers.

It's good, no doubt, and quite incredible that it was done on such a low budget.
I read somewhere that money was so tight that while the film is 77 minutes long, they only filmed 80 minutes of footage. And in one or two scenes you can just catch the lead (also the director) calling "cut" before the scene changes.

But I'd stop well short of calling it profound. Complicated, yes... I could follow it for a while, but soon the parallel aspects multiplied exponentially, and when I heard that there were some eighteen or so different parallels by the end I was no longer even sure where I lost track.

Certainly recommended, and certainly a prime (pun intended) example of how good a (very) low-budget movie can be.
