What qualifies as science?

So I can do a scientific study, but it's not science
It's science if you report your results conscientiously and other people can reproduce your study with similar results.

Like the guys who weighed dying and dead people to see if the departing soul had mass.

It's common to get "negative" results, in doing the best and most rigorous of studies.

There are many things beyond science, I want nothing to be beyond science.
Mathematics and science are my favourite day dreams.

I caught a ghost on tape once. It was extremely convincing. I was very drunk, walking home from a friends house. I decided to record my journey home so I could observe my behaviour later.
A week later I pulled up the video on my computer. There was a transparent girl standing on the other side of the road staring at me. She put her arms out and started to walk towards me and disappeared. It gave me chills like no other. I couldn't dispute it.
I showed a few people but I somehow accidentally deleted the video.
It doesn't matter yet but this is how I knew that one day we'll know the unknown.

I'm sure many traditional scientists have seen things beyond science, the best option would to be patient and not say a peep.
Others may be so stuck in a way they decide to un see what they saw.
Or he can act upon it only to be crucified by others.
There is peer pressure in science which only makes the case 10x harder to solve.
So let's see.

1) You were very drunk
2) There were no other witnesses
3) You have accidentally deleted the recording.
4) All you saw - a week alter - was a "transparent girl".

And for some reason your first thought is it was a ghost. Most people would be thinking of explanations in terms of reflections.

This is a classic example of the sort of unreproducible anecdote that gives the topic a bad name.

I was drunk, not the camera.

It was around 3am, it was a bush road (no people, no reflections)

For me to rule anything out, it would have been cross data from the memory, but there was nothing on the hard drive that could explain that.

I showed a few people before I accidentally deleted the footage.

Footage would only be useful for my own personal use anyway.
Even if I showed you the video would you really believe that I didn't tamper with it?

It was the only ghost footage I could actually believe because I'm the one who shot it. I question everything I see on the internet, no matter how convincing it is.

The only way you'll ever believe is if you have a similar experience. Then you'll be in the same boat.

Fine, but my point is this is not doing science, that's all.

On the road to my cousin's farm, there's a haunted church. We usually go out there in broad daylight but one time we went at dusk and I saw the ghost for the first time. It was obviously the reflection of our headlights in the windows (and possibly mirrors), moving because we were moving. I didn't even associate it with the "ghost" until later.

Yes I think I have read that this is very common, especially with cameras, which seem to pick up reflections that have gone unnoticed to the naked eye. People who want to see ghosts see ghosts, but you or I would assume the more mundane explanation. Life is a bit duller when you are rational, perhaps.

What qualifies as science is investigation into the unknown . Which is what science has been doing for centuries . And thousands of yrs.

Which includes everything that is unexplained .

In a sense you are correct, we have been studying universal patterns since the beginning. But except of assigning supernatural properties to the unexplainable events, such as in the bible, science has created a structural method of analysis of these phenomena.

Once we had a body of observations, we were able to draw conclusions about the physical, not supernatural, nature of these patterns.

That was the birth of the physical sciences, replacing the supernatural interpretations of the initial first impresssions
Thor was replaced by energetically interacting clouds, which build electrical positive charges, which then release these electric chrges to the negatively charged "ground" of earth, in the form of "lightning", accompanied by a thunderous sound.

Once we knew the physical science, it replaced the supernatural science which had ruled our knowledge for millennia and Thor was put to rest.

Many people are so turned off by death that they have to think up an alternative. I have a highly imaginative brain, so regularly I'll glance at my letterbox or a small tree etc and think a person is standing there. I jump out of my skin every time and it happens at least a couple times a day. So maybe they're hallucinating half the time as well. Unlike the patients who die during an operation, who see all kinds of things, are likely tripping on lack of oxygen.
I have my own personal reasons to believe what I believe and hopefully I'll have an answer one day.

It'll probably be a waste of time but I have found an experiment that would be simple enough to do and the results reproducible. EVP.

Thanks

From your post# 231 , what would be your experiment ?

Go somewhere quiet on the long wave, ask questions, write down answers and of course record everything. Location imo is not important, as energy is in all places at all times. Any results would then have to be sieved and anything conclusive sieved again. In the end, I wouldn't label it as evidence but it would be a fun experiment.

Thats not an experiment .

All though it would be interesting .

The type of wave does matter .

If it's all woo it won't matter, I should be able to get a result on any wave. I want a result though, maybe I'll do a YouTube video and post the link here

It is Woo Woo and you won't get any result

And already you have expanded your experiment to record the voices of the dead into a video. A video of what?

Best of luck

:)
