Oh yeah, very cool stuff. Slower, more hypnotic and less abrasive than the brighter steel picked banjo you here in bluegrass today.

Yes, it can be quite haunting and beautiful. The banjo was also introduced by African slaves, and so it's quite possible that it represents the roots of the blues.

that punk man.

punk is not knowing if the 2x4 wedged between the door is not to keep them out or to keep you in

Rock( mostly from the 60's and 70's but some 80's)
classical
and folk music. Love that stuff. I just eat it it up

For me the poll was lack-o-category. No big. If it has a clean message and sounds good, chances are I like it. It ranges from Strauss - Kid Rock, Christian - Country, and a bunch of redneck/hillbilly crap no one in here probably listens to.

Try, me.

How about the new Dell McCoury record Moneyland.

Mountainheart
Cadillac Sky
3rd Tyme Out
Run C&W
Gibson Brothers
Sam Bush
Micheal Cleveland

and on and on and......

These guys are some the most talented (and under paid) folks in the business. It's a shame really.

Rebel Son
Soggy Bottom Boys
Allison Krauss
Rhett Akins
+ various bluegrass, old and new southern rock, and a touch of Zydeco.

I like 50's country (Faron Young, Cash), 60's punk, 70's heavy metal, psyche, and Ethiopian Funk, 80's new wave, Hip Hop, Japanese noise (Boris), all kinds of stuff.

I believe you mean 70's Punk. It didnt really exsist in the 60's. That was mostly psyche music or very very very early stages of punk that was mostly a type of stoner hippie music. Punk didnt really come around untill 75' or 76'

I like to think of it as the precursor to punk. It's also called garage, and it has a lot of early psyche themes.

I'm also a fan of Japanese Klezmer, and Cambodian Funk Yodelling.
