A virus has struck Nokia smartphone users. Once downloaded, the virus, called Skulls, replaces all phone desktop icons with images of a skull.

It also renders all phone applications, including SMSs and MMSs, useless.
(the end...)

Now it's on phones! I knew it was possible in theory, but someone did it! I guess that lots of newbies will love this new game : crash as many phones as possible.
What's next? Cars?

In fact it's good for me : it will be my job! :p

Your job is to make viruses for phones?

Hey why not, someones got to make the annoying buggers so that there can be a Norton 'Mobile' Anti-Virus V.1

'Nuke the Whales?'
'Well, ya gotta nuke something'
'Touche'

that sucks, surly its just as simple as restoring the factory settings or formatting the memory to get rid of it?

Unless they don't have any ROM... which wouldn't surprise me.

Most of those phone viruses are just exploiting the use of Java. I guess they will just start implimenting certificate systems or having different levels at which your phone can execute Java (Like your broswer can be stopped from executing Java/Javascript/VBScript/ActiveX etc)

Most of the common programmatic bugs I would guess would be like Bufferoverflows, although I couldn't tell you if it would grant access to people through a website to read your e-mail etc, unless of course it emulates the interface of your phones normal functions and is really sending data across a dialedup connection, but in most cases phones tell you they are in use.
