Yes I recall laughing about this at the time (2 years ago) - it was in the press. Policeman Plod or what?

I'n not aware of anyone nowadays - apart from grandstanding politicians - who really claims with a straight face that our police are "the best in the world". There used to be a series of Little Englander myths like this when I was a child but all of them have been exploded now by contact with the real world, esp. our membership of the EU.

Now that the shell-suited idiots and swivel-eyed madmen have voted us out of the EU, perhaps some of these cozy myths will return.......
