What do Americans, or, sciforumers in general, know about tunisia, just asking,, just,i want to know, what does sciforumers, or americans, know, about tunisia, and what do they think about it.
and is it true, americans hate arabs and muslims? and have tons of mythes about them? and cant say only bad things about them, or don't say anything?
anyway, and what about the maghreb?

[ps: tunisia is an arab muslim country]

The most likely answer is that most Americans know very little about your part of the world except for the violence that makes the news. So, the short answer to your question is that your part of the world has failed to provide enough positive publicity to balance out the negative publicity.

Personally, I happened to have studied the qur'anic Arabic language, the qur'an, the Sahara and the Maghreb, including Tunisia. I probably know little tidbits about it that you don't know. I could write a post thousands of words long. You'll probably find that most Americans probably couldn't even find Tunisia on a map. However, I would venture to guess that SciForum members are more intelligent that most Americans.

well, about the crimes and stuff, as much as i know, in tunisia, is even safer than us or many western countries, besides the law poverty, and not poor as the word as you think, infact we don't use it mostyl, we use like, "9illil" means don't have much.also other arab countries.
first here we don't even have guns, even most police men. a baby kidnapped in hospital, and everyone in tunisia heard of it, effcorse by tv. and everyone was reacted to, and the baby have been found thank to the tunisians effort, like, to report, if they saw something suspecious, and sicne tunisia is small, well, they found her in a week i think, in 2 days, facebook is filled with the news of a kidnapped baby, and that thank to the social shows, that aims to help people. (oops, i think, i shouldn' talk abou that :p i said i will not say anything about my country, well, i said it anyway, i wan't say more :p, i know how you people will react if i did.. )

anyway, but, why all the negatives? i can bring tons and tons of world's most frightning crimes and criminals from the u.s.a., and most horrible acts and doings, does this make the americans terrorists or something?

However, I would venture to guess that SciForum members are more intelligent that most Americans.

that's why i also asking sciforumers. :p

Vast arid expanse comes to mind. All the western states in the U.S. have such vast acreages of low-usage properties. Habitable "oasis" zones surrounded by ocean or "fort stinking desert". Tunisia must be like Texas, without the oil income.

and how is texas? you mean weather?

envirement,; we have all kinds of climates, desert with dunes, arid, semi-arid, wet, weathers, all kinds, we have forests in wet areas, and in semi-wet and some in arid areas, oasises and "tamr" production in desert, snow, sunny, all what you want :p
and what about the society?

well, pictures are better than a thousand word
go to google, google yourself :p

based on this.

I can say I know more about Tunisia than you do about americans. ;)

lol, no, we watch american movies most time :p
and they are normal people, what's the difference?

and do you seriously think i hate americans? or we, all most of us hate americans? i (maybe we) may hate america policies toward muslims, but, we don't hate americans.

on the contrary, you showed a problem in the u.s. with some people, like when they meat a bad person, from a ountyr, they will hate the hall country, and think it's all bad, etc... hmm, it seems you're like that, judging on a country by one person.

ok, answer this question: what do i think, that i think about americans?

yes, the wet is not as wet as europe, but google map and some google images would be great and usefull:
like tunisia forests, tunisian green north or whatever, or desert, or palm oasis, etc etc.. google is the best answer.

.

yes,but also there's a difference from a country to another, but you can't compare a society in a poor africa country to japan, or a poor african country, or even an africa country, to japan, a small countyr, competing u.s.a., and china (that have 1.6 billion people i think) also korea.
arabs love japanese and koreans soo much, here too, intill s.korea maked a channel here all korean, with always arabic subtitles, for tunisians and all arabs, for us, japanese and koreans, are a model to follow, not europeans, and not americans :p japanese and japan, and korea, are the best!

Here in Transylvania, ordinary people, do not ask and are not interested what religion you have.
To you?

they wan't ask or interrest in what relegion you have here too, so?
infact, we like to meet people from other countries, and we love to see their culture, like koreans or japanese, or others..
jews escaped from europe once to north africa because of WW, or something or NAZI, i forgot, also about thousands of russians before immigrated to live here because of the hard political times that time, soviet ruling, survivors from the christian crusades on south spain immigrated to north africa. and others.

Also I think there is a difference between people from the city and the countryside.

hmm, what kind of difference do you mean?
if you mean clothes? yes, some wear some beautifull tradional clothes, they have all what the city have, elecricity, water, schools, clinics, and since tunisia is so small, with 24 state, each state have a main cities, and some towns around, everything is close, nothing too far.
but, what's the difference you exactly mean? like maybe, can't read or write?
everyone can read and write, exept some old people, but there are some schools for old people, where old people who want to learn reading and writing and learn few things, can go their :p
still don't know what's the difference you mean.
