Interesting!! Is there a scientific reason for this???

dragon????
It's to do with momentum and brownian motion, IIRC. The statement is not strictly true, because it makes the water spin (in a vortex) which will rotate the ice.

England are playing on Tuesday I think I will miss that match I think. I'll have to catch the highlights. Watched Brazil last night, Renaldo was fucking lethargic. Fat lardy ass.

Yeah "gravity" go look up on Quantum mechanics.

Hey I am a biologist; not an engineer or a physicist; cut me some slack, will you?

That is gobbledygok to me, unfortunately; I know Brownian motion is something to do with movement and electrons, but that's the extent of my knowledge lol

samcdkey and dargon, can you both go flirt some in some other thread?

"I think he means that when you rotate a cup filled with water, the ice [floating in the water] will stay pointing in roughly the same direction."

Its not actually if you put a mark on the ice and hold the cup and you rotate the direction of the of mark on the ice will change - don't believe me try it. You can do this experiment at home. Experiment with different material cups.

Hey this a free thoughts forum and we are having free thoughts :)
