This post is short, sweet and to the point:

In your personal opinion, what are the five fields that are on the forefront of knowledge today? What five fields are making the biggest impacts on life as we know it? It doesn't matter if they overlap or if they are generic; just what you think are the top five.

1) space technologies
2) nanotechnology
3) plasma fusion reactor
4) environmental manipulation calculation tech.
5) A.I?
 
Medical.....

Replaceable organs, engineered artifical arms and legs that are perfect in what they do, cures for diseases not just controling systems and on and on.
 
nanotechnology is a very important aspect as it is already gaining wide array of uses. For example recently a group of Chinese scientists have discovered a way to use carbon nanotubes to store electrons and produce carbon molecules that store this electrical energy...its quite amazing...
