The purpose of death

You are using a buzz sentence " evolutionary purpose " Is there a purpose for evolution ? If there is , therefore there is an objective, Is the objective to improve ? Does the gene know that that there is an objective ? The gene is only a part if the DNA. To have an objective there have to be an organisation which mean multicellular.
You are correct.
We should be very careful not to anthropomorphize evolution. It has no goal, no purpose.
We use these words abstractly.

That begs the question of why any organism should lose the ability to reproduce - the equivalent of death, evolutionarily speaking.
Well, because organisms are limited by the real world of physics, chemistry and biology.
It would ne nice if they could simply operate perfectly until some major organ failed catastrophically, but evolution hasn't reached that stage yet.

Evolution has no goal ?

How so?

Uh. Well, that's fundamental to the very concept.

Organisms that can survive can reproduce to pass on their traits. But there's no goal of what traits might allow survival of the next generation. No thinking ahead.

Let's try the other way. If it did have a goal, what do you think it might be?

Survival

But More intelligent

In effect it leads to species that might be better suited to survive a given situation, but it's a passive process. Bad designs die out, good designs survive. Purpose requires a sense of the future, which evolution totally lacks.
